Hi Neighbours ! As summer approaches garbage increases and a mess ensues. I am unsure as to why big trash has not been collected yet and left a message with the Bouctouche office. Twice in the most recent weeks I’ve witnessed “others” not from our laneway adding trash to the bins. Our current bins are at the end of there life and need replaced. I am proposing to build a larger area that can handle multiple smaller units for garbage. The current size was mentioned to me by the current garbage service as being too difficult to clean out. I have included a photo below, proposing smaller type units assigned to cottages. Something similar to below , I know alot of neighbours have mentioned they take their garbage home with them and do not use the ones at the end of the road. Please indicate if you would like us to get your cottage one of the below, or if you prefer two or would like to share with a neighbour.
Please indicate if you would like a single or double and who will be using it so we can get name plates for them.

If your only using it in the summer months we can move them out of the way in the fall and set back in place in the spring.

Just a heads up that Mike Wilson’s crew plan to work on Country Road from the woods toward the river to reseal the road that was damaged by the road grader last year. If the weather permits he plans to do this on Wednesday.

Hi Neighbours! We are all anxious for the summer to arrive and start to enjoy the river. We graded the road(quickly) just to get the water off of it with hopes it will dry up. Once it is fit we will grade and roll it good. The road is getting down to mud in some places and hard to keep moving the little bit of good material that is there around. It is our hopes this year to get some new material to top the road. As per the garbage bin, Remo put a false bottom in it and the locks are back on. So it’s working for now. We will make a plan to build something new/more attractive and easy to use this summer.

Good morning neighbours, I wanted to make everyone aware that Fero has stopped picking up the garbage at the cottage. They did not give any notice and when contacted their reasoning was “the bin is unsafe, it is to deep”. We had previously planned/discussed making changes to the bins to prevent illegal dumping and accommodate everyone’s needs. Please comment if you use the garbage bins at the end of the lane, include suggestions for type and design so we can work together to get new “safe” bins that work work everyone.

Hi Friends ! Hope the holidays are restful and kind to everyone. We had a bit of cabin fever so we have been working on some trails in the woods. We hope to have between 3-4 km done this week. We plan to drag them if we get snow for walking, skiing or snow shoes. It is a work in progress and will provide a great chance for everyone to enjoy without getting too lost in the woods ! (Liam, Colin and Dale please stay on the marked trails ! Ha ha )

As much as we want to hang on to the good weather we need to prepare for winter. With winter comes snow and snow removal. We have ordered all new snow stakes to mark the roadway and lane ways. Once they arrive we will install them. If you haven’t already spoke with George about snow removal I encourage each cottage owner to do so. The cottage road fund that did exist is now depleted to zero. The last couple of years the roadway has been signed, ditched, trimmed with culverts replaced and re set. Most recently with the generous financial help from George, Remo, Bob and ourselves the Road was topped with reclaim and emulsion to the woods. We have a great road with access for all with great neighbour’s and want to continue to be able to maintain and make improvements as or if needed.
