Did you see the 'Squid Juice article in Farm Show Magazine?

Our work with 'Squid Juice' was recently featured in Farm Show Magazine, highlighting how leftover calamari-processing byproducts are being repurposed into a sustainable agricultural input. The article explores the unique role of β-chitin in supporting plant health and resilience, along with what makes 'Squid Juice' different, including its water-soluble, bioavailable β-chitin and its versatility throughout the growing season, from germination to harvest.

It’s always exciting to see the story of 'Squid Juice' reaching more growers, and we’re grateful to Farm Show Magazine for sharing how we are supporting farmers across North America.

We’re proud to support exceptional local growers like Rumar Farm in Ridgeville, Ontario, who are using ‘Squid Juice’ as part of their farming practices.

Owned and operated by Ruth Gatzke and Marc McKerracher, Rumar Farm is a certified organic farm rooted in biodynamic principles, growing tender fruit, berries, heirloom vegetables, and melons with a focus on soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable stewardship.

Through their CSA Farmshare program, local farmers market presence, and relationships with local chefs, Rumar Farm is bringing thoughtfully grown food from the field to the community, with their produce trusted by a local Michelin Star restaurant.

‘Squid Juice’ is proud to support their continued commitment to healthy soils, strong biological systems, and growing exceptional food for generations to come.

The Science Behind ‘Squid Juice’: Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks that support many essential processes within plants.

Dr. Miles Ingwers, Chief Science Officer, explores the role amino acids play in plant health, biological activity, and crop performance, helping us better understand the science behind how plants grow and respond.

Explore the biology behind ‘Squid Juice’ and the systems that support healthier, more resilient crops.

Niagara's vineyards are known around the world for producing exceptional wines, but every great vintage starts long before harvest.

Healthy soils, resilient vines, and strong biological activity all play a role in supporting the quality growers strive for year after year.

We're proud to support local vineyards with 'Squid Juice', helping growers build healthier, more resilient growing systems from the ground up.

Regenerative agriculture does not end at harvest. It carries all the way through to the food on our tables.

Proven Proteins, founded by fifth generation farmer Chad Meinders, is built on the belief that healthy food starts with healthy soil. Through Ripley Cove Farms in Indiana, Chad raises cattle on biodiverse pastures without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, added hormones, steroids, or routine antibiotics.

What makes their approach unique is a commitment to transparency and measurable results. Every animal is independently tested, with publicly available data showing 0 ppm glyphosate and an optimized 3:1 Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acid ratio, a strong indicator of truly grass fed and finished cattle.

The focus is not just on what is added to the system, but on what can be accomplished by working with natural biological processes. Diverse pastures, healthy soils, and thriving microbial communities all contribute to more resilient land and more nutrient dense food.

Chad uses ‘Squid Juice’ on the grasses that feed his cattle, extending that regenerative approach even further. By supporting soil biology at the foundation of the system, the benefits carry upward through the forage, the livestock, and ultimately to the families enjoying the final product.

It's a powerful example of how the principles of regenerative agriculture can connect every step of the food chain, from healthy soil to healthy communities.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to spend time on the road connecting with farmers, growers, and agricultural leaders who are working toward the future of farming.

Horizons was a unique experience, bringing together farmers, researchers, and innovators on an active farm where conversations could happen right where the work is being done. We were thankful to connect with Tannis and Derek Axten, hear their perspective on regenerative agriculture, and share how ‘Squid Juice’ is supporting growers in building healthier, more resilient farming systems.

Agriculture has always been built on knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from one another. These conversations help strengthen the future of farming while supporting the growers who work every day to nourish our communities.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to listen, learn, and connect with the people shaping agriculture.

🌿 The countdown to the is on!

We're excited to be one of this year's sponsors, alongside our partner GreenFlow Corp, and to be part of a weekend that brings together growers, educators, innovators, artists, and the cannabis community from across BC and beyond.

The Rosebud Bowl is more than an event—it's a chance to learn, reconnect, share ideas, and celebrate the people who are helping shape the future of the industry.

If you'll be in Salmo, come by and say hello! We'd love to chat about soil health, plant nutrition, and how healthy roots lay the foundation for stronger, more resilient plants.

Healthy plants start with strong biology. Jason from Doeblin Farms used ‘Squid Juice’ through foliar applications during the growing season and saw improved overall plant health. Tissue analysis confirmed strong nutrient levels, including noticeably higher copper levels.

The results supported what was visible in the field: ‘Squid Juice’ helped increase the plant’s natural defenses and resilience. Field experience backed by data. That’s the value of real world trials.

Groundswell is the latest documentary from the creators of Kiss the Ground and Common Ground, taking a deeper look at the global regenerative agriculture movement and why healthy soils matter to the future of our farms, our food systems, and our communities.

Narrated by Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson, the film explores the connection between soil biology, biodiversity, resilience, and the people working to build a more sustainable future for agriculture.

These are many of the same principles that drive what we do every day. Our goal has always been to help bridge the gap, giving growers practical tools that support regenerative practices while working within the realities of modern farming. Every step toward healthier soils and stronger ecosystems matters, and every farmer moving in that direction deserves support.
