🤜 Set S.M.A.R.T. goals 🤛
The first step to creating a winning strategy is to establish your objectives and goals. Without goals, you have no way to measure success and return on investment (ROI).
Each of your goals should be:
✅ Specific
✅ Measurable
✅ Attainable
✅ Relevant
✅ Time-bound
This is the S.M.A.R.T. goal framework. It will guide your actions and ensure they lead to real business results.
Here’s an example of a S.M.A.R.T. goal:
“We will use Facebook for advertising and lower our average response rate to under two hours by the end of the month.”
Track meaningful metrics:
Vanity metrics like number of followers and likes are easy to track, but it’s hard to prove their real value. Instead, focus on things like engagement, click-through, and conversion rates.
You may want to track different goals for different social media networks, or even different uses for each network.
For example, if you use LinkedIn to drive traffic to your website, you would measure click-throughs. If Instagram is for brand awareness, you might track the number of Instagram Story views. And if you advertise on Facebook, cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-lead (CPL) are common success metrics.
Social media goals should align with your overall marketing objectives.

4 SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL SIDE HUSTLES
1️⃣ Tell your boss about your side hustle.
Show that you’re bringing your skills from your side hustle to your day job, having a side hustle makes you more valuable. It’s also important to emphasize that you’ll continue to give your day job your all.
2️⃣ Ask for help when you need it.
If the current pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that life is incredibly unpredictable. Being transparent about your situation and its daily challenges with those around you can help you and your business thrive. Get in the habit of expressing where and how you need support.
3️⃣ Get strategic about your time.
Start time blocking, or scheduling out a specific time to complete specific tasks on your list. You must treat your side hustle as a business even when you’re having to do it outside of your normal hours.
4️⃣ Don’t quit your day job until you have a plan.
Not every person with a side hustle dreams of leaving their 9-to-5; you may very well want to keep your day job. However if you do want to leave it, make sure you have enough money put away and/or that your side hustle has started to make more monthly than your day job.
