Indigenous businesses and workers are already making a significant contribution to Saskatchewan's manufacturing and construction sectors. There is also tremendous opportunity to expand Indigenous participation and strengthen long-term economic growth.

Our latest Indigenous Economic Impact Analysis examines the current state of Indigenous participation across the province, highlighting both the economic contributions being made today and the systemic barriers that continue to limit growth.

The report explores:
• The economic impact Indigenous businesses and workers are already creating.
• Challenges related to employment, business ownership, and access to capital.
• Opportunities to strengthen Indigenous procurement, workforce development, and partnerships.
• Practical recommendations to support meaningful economic reconciliation.

The Indigenous Manufacturing & Contracting Network (IMCN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Harley Camsell, CPSM as its new Executive Director.

Harley brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning Indigenous economic development, procurement, operations, strategic planning, and organizational management. Throughout his career, he has built strong partnerships across Indigenous communities, industry, and the public sector while leading initiatives that create meaningful economic opportunities and long-term community benefits. Originally from Saskatchewan’s North in Treaty 10 territory, Harley is of Denesuline descent.

As Canada’s first Indigenous-led manufacturing and contracting network, IMCN is committed to advancing Indigenous participation and leadership across the manufacturing, industrial, and contracting sectors. Harley's experience, relationships, and collaborative leadership style will help strengthen IMCN's ability to support its members, advocate for Indigenous businesses, and advance economic reconciliation through action.

The Indigenous Manufacturing and Contracting Network (IMCN) is proud to celebrate the achievements of two of our member companies, STC Industrial Group and George Gordon Developments Ltd., whose division Musqua Environmental was recognized at the 18th Annual RCE Saskatchewan Awards for Achievement in Education for Sustainable Development.

These awards honour organizations that demonstrate leadership in sustainability through education, community engagement, innovation, and meaningful action. Recognition at this event reflects a strong commitment to creating positive social, economic, and environmental impacts within our communities.

Today, IMCN boards members Shaun Howdle, ICD.D & Kayla Paul, met with Minister Wilson of SaskBuilds and Procurement to discuss the IMCN Economic Impact Study and opportunities surrounding an Indigenous Procurement Policy in Saskatchewan.

The conversation brought forward many valuable insights and positive takeaways as we continue working toward strengthening Indigenous economic participation and partnerships across the province.
