Navigating healthcare, aging, caregiving, diagnoses, resources, paperwork, appointments, and family dynamics can feel incredibly overwhelming.

That’s where Nana’s Navigator steps in.

We help individuals and families find clarity in complicated moments — connecting people to the right resources, supports, services, and conversations so they can move forward with confidence.

Because no one should have to figure everything out alone.

June is a beautiful reminder that community matters. Connection matters. Compassion matters. And having someone beside you during life’s hardest moments can change everything.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed trying to support yourself or someone you love, know this: you do not have to navigate it alone. 💛

Father’s Day can hold so many emotions.

Celebration. Gratitude. Memories. Grief. Pride. Love.

At Nana’s Navigator, we know that so many fathers and father figures spend their lives being the steady ones — the fixers, the protectors, the providers, the quiet supporters behind the scenes.

We also know many are navigating incredibly hard seasons right now:
Supporting aging parents.
Managing health challenges.
Care partnering for a spouse.
Showing up for children and grandchildren while carrying their own worries silently.

And still… they keep showing up.

Today, we want to recognize the dads who drive to appointments, make the difficult calls, sit quietly in hospital rooms, learn new caregiving roles, and continue loving their families through every chapter life brings.

Your strength is seen.
Your care matters.
And your presence leaves a legacy far beyond words.

From all of us at Nana’s Navigator, Happy Father’s Day to the incredible fathers, grandfathers, bonus dads, and father figures in our communities. 💙

🛠️ Have You Heard of Men's Sheds Canada?

Retirement, life changes, and aging can sometimes leave men feeling isolated or disconnected from their community. That's where Men's Sheds Canada comes in.

A Men's Shed is a welcoming space where men come together to build friendships, learn new skills, share experiences, and support one another. Whether it's woodworking, gardening, hiking, cooking, community projects, or simply enjoying good conversation, every Shed is unique—but all are built on connection, purpose, and belonging.

The "shoulder-to-shoulder" approach helps create a comfortable environment where men can connect naturally while working on shared interests and activities.

As temperatures rise, so can the risks for older adults and vulnerable family members.

Heat exhaustion, dehydration, medication sensitivities, mobility concerns, and social isolation can all become more challenging during the summer months — especially for seniors living independently.

A few small check-ins can make a huge difference:
☀️ Encourage hydration
☀️ Review medications and heat sensitivities
☀️ Ensure homes stay cool and safe
☀️ Arrange regular wellness check-ins
☀️ Help reduce isolation through connection and community

At Nana’s Navigator, we know families are often balancing caregiving, work, emotions, and everyday life all at once. Support matters — and preparation helps everyone breathe a little easier.

Here’s to a safe, connected, and joy-filled summer season. 💛

🚗🌾 Another great day on the road in Rural Alberta!

Today I had the opportunity to attend the Seniors Fair in Wainwright and connect with older adults, care partners, families, and community organizations that are making a difference close to home.

A huge thank you to Wainwright & District FCSS for organizing such a welcoming and well-attended event. It was wonderful to see so many organizations coming together to share resources, build connections, and support aging well in our communities.

I was also grateful to spend the day alongside Team CarePal. Their commitment to helping families and friends stay connected through technology is helping address one of the biggest challenges many caregivers face—coordinating care, communication, and support across multiple people and locations.

Days like this are a great reminder that some of the best solutions happen when communities, service providers, technology partners, and families work together.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, share your stories, and learn more about navigating supports and services for older adults.
