There is no feeling quite like unclipping your boots after a long, hard day on the mountain.

The pressure releases. The blood flows back into your feet. You can breathe.

It’s the signal that the work is done.

Today marks Day 30 of this sprint. For the last month, we have covered the entire landscape of Human Performance:
✅ We proved the ROI of Ergonomics.
✅ We explored the Biology of Fatigue.
✅ We challenged the “Old School” Safety Leadership.
✅ We mapped out the Strategy for 2026.

I started this series to prove one thing: Work doesn’t have to hurt.

Whether you are a skier carving down a mountain or an Industrial Athlete building a skyline, the physics are the same. If you fight gravity, you lose. If you align with it, you flow.

Thank you for riding the chairlift with me this month. The Sprint is over. But the Season is just getting started.

See you in 2026. 🥂

It’s official. A new class of PSIC Level 1 Instructors has graduated! 🎓

Over the last few days, I watched this group transform. They walked in as “Skiers” (focused on their own performance). They walked out as “Pros” (focused on the student’s performance).

This is the “Multiplier Effect.”

In the corporate world, I see too many Safety Managers trying to be the “Hero.” They want to solve every problem, write every permit, and catch every error themselves.

That is a recipe for burnout.

Your goal shouldn’t be to be the only expert in the room. Your goal should be to create more experts.

If I teach 8 people how to teach... I haven’t just improved my own capacity. I have multiplied my impact by 800%.

These new instructors will go on to teach hundreds of students this season. My “Safety Standard” will live on through them, even when I’m not on the hill.

The Monday Morning Audit: Who are you mentoring right now? Are you hoarding knowledge, or are you multiplying it?

Congratulations to the new crew. Welcome to the profession!

I’m spending my Sunday running a PSIC Level 1 Course.

I have a group of strong skiers who want to learn how to teach. They all want to talk about carving, speed, and advanced mechanics.

But we spend almost the entire course focusing on one thing: creating adventures built on a solid foundation of science and learning.

Why? Because if your foundation is off by 5 degrees at 5Km/h, you will be off by 50 degrees at 60Km/h. You cannot add speed (production) to a system that is fundamentally out of balance.

I see businesses make this mistake constantly.

They try to layer “High Performance” strategies on top of a broken culture.
❌ They buy expensive safety software... but the workers don’t trust the foreman.
❌ They install AI cameras... but the lighting in the warehouse is terrible.
❌ They preach “Zero Harm”... but they push overtime every week.

You are trying to ski double-black diamonds before you can balance on the bunny hill.

The Audit: Stop looking for the “Next Big Thing.” Look at your feet. Is your foundation solid?

Most people assume I’m a “Ski Bum” who stumbled into Safety. The truth is the exact opposite.

I was a Kinesiologist and Ergonomist long before I ever put on a uniform.

By 23, I was already running my own business applying ergonomics. I went on to earn my MSc in Ergonomics & Human Factors and earned my CPE (Certified Professional Ergonomist) designation. I spent years in the trenches of industry, analyzing biomechanics with academic precision.

Then, at age 37, I made a pivot. I became a Ski Instructor.

And that is when the “Theory” came alive.

As I taught students how to handle extreme forces on the mountain, I realized I was teaching the exact same principles I used in the factory:
✅ Bone Stacking: Aligning the skeleton so muscles don’t burn out.
✅ Leverage: Using physics to turn, rather than brute force.
✅ The Interface: How the boot (or the tool) dictates human performance.

I spent the next 10 years instructing, eventually earning my MBA to understand the business strategy behind the performance.

Why does this unique path matter to you?

Because I don’t just “guess” at safety. I have the Academic Rigor of a CPE. I have the Coaching Eye of an Instructor. I have the Strategic Mind of an MBA.

I view your workers as “Industrial Athletes” because I know exactly what it takes to keep a human body performing at an elite level - whether that’s on a Black Diamond run or a manufacturing line.

It’s all just Physics.

We talk a lot about “Industrial Athletes,” leverage, and productivity.

But on days like today, we remember the real reason we do it.

We don’t practice good ergonomics just to make the company more money. We do it so that when we clock out, we aren’t “spent.”

We do it so we have the physical capacity to: Lift our kids. Ski with our friends. Be present with our families.

The goal of Human Performance isn’t just to be a better worker. It’s to be a durable human for the people who love you.

Merry Christmas, everyone. See you on the slopes. ⛷️
