Had the privilege to go to Toronto with Missy with the 2 Spirited people of the 1st nations and host a workshop of meaningful conversations and delicious Persian food! talking about the impacts of colonization, 2 spirit teachings, and the role immigrants play in this continually colonized landscape of Canada. So fascinating to hear what I say translated into Arabic and Farsi! Beautiful new friendships and shared culture at the Brickworks Greenspace

For me, the Moose Hide Campaign is deeply personal. As a Two-Spirit person and survivor, I carry both the wounds and the strength of those who came before me—those whose voices were silenced, whose stories were buried. Wearing this piece of moose hide is not just a symbol. It’s a promise to break cycles of violence, to hold space for healing, and to stand up for our relatives—especially Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people—who continue to face disproportionate harm.

Taking action means using my voice when it's uncomfortable, making room for others when the world won't, and pushing for systems that honour our full dignity. It means reclaiming ceremony, identity, and safety. This is not just about awareness—it’s about change. And that change starts with each of us showing up, every day, with courage and compassion...
