I've started over in new countries.

I've started over as a single mom, wondering how I was going to make everything work.

I've started over after relationships ended and the future I thought I was building suddenly looked very different.

I've had to rebuild financially.

I've changed direction professionally.

I've gone from a long career in banking to becoming an entrepreneur and learning an entirely new way of working.

And even in business, I've had seasons when things didn't go according to plan and I've had to regroup, rethink, and keep moving.

Starting over can be scary.

Sometimes it can even feel like you've somehow gone backwards.

But I've learned something over the years:

๐’๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ž๐ฌ๐ง'๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ž๐š๐ง ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ .

Every time I've had to begin again, I brought something with me.

Experience.

Wisdom.

Strength.

Skills.

Lessons from mistakes.

And a version of myself that had already survived things I once thought I couldn't.

When I look back now, some of the chapters that felt like endings were actually redirecting me toward something new.

So these days, I'm not as afraid of starting over.

I've done it before.

And if life requires me to do it again, I'll remind myself:

Freedom to be there when my children need me.

Freedom to decide how I spend my day.

Freedom to build something that belongs to me.

Freedom to make decisions based on what I want for my lifeโ€”not only what I can afford.

My definition of success has changed a lot over the years.

I used to think it was about earning more.

Now?

I think it's about having ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ.

And that's a big part of why I continue building what I'm building.

Would you travel?

Spend more time with your children?

Leave a job you don't enjoy?

Move somewhere else?

Help your parents?

Pay off your home?

Start something you've dreamed about for years?

Sometimes we're so busy surviving our current reality that we stop allowing ourselves to imagine another one.

Today I realized I had completely forgotten TWO things that were actually important.

One was a post I needed to make for a challenge Iโ€™m running in my mentorship group.

The other?

๐€ ๐œ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐š ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

And yesโ€ฆ Iโ€™m blaming perimenopause. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The funny thing is, I had every intention of doing both. They were on my radar. I knew they needed to happen.

And somehow my brain apparently said, โ€œWe donโ€™t need to remember that today.โ€ ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thankfully, I remembered before the day was over and got everything doneโ€”just a little later than planned.

But it reminded me that some days, being productive doesnโ€™t mean everything goes according to schedule.

Sometimes it means remembering at 4:37 p.m. and sayingโ€ฆ

โ€œ๐Ž๐‡ ๐‚๐‘๐€๐! ๐ˆ ๐…๐Ž๐‘๐†๐Ž๐“!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Then getting it done anyway.

Now I need to knowโ€ฆ

No fancy office.

No perfectly staged laptop.

And depending on when you catch me, probably a cup of coffee that's been reheated more than once. ๐Ÿ˜‚

But this is actually where a lot of the work happens.

Learning.

Planning.

Following up.

Creating.

Testing things that don't work.

Changing them.

Trying again.

And slowly building something that didn't exist before.

Six years into this journey, I'm still learning.

Still growing.

Still figuring things out.

And I've realized that this is what entrepreneurship actually looks like most days.

Not glamorous.

Just ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐ญ.

And I'm okay with that.

Because every ordinary day like this is helping me build an extraordinary future.

For a long time, I thought earning more meant one thing:

๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ค ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ.

Get another job.
Take overtime.
Sacrifice more time.

And when you're already stretched thin, that's not exactly an exciting solution.

One of the biggest mindset shifts I experienced was realizing there are other ways to build income.

That realization eventually led me online.

And six years later, I'm still grateful I was willing to explore something different.

Sometimes the answer isn't working harder.

Sometimes it's learning ๐š๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ.

I wish someone had taught me this sooner.

I spent a lot of my life believing I needed to know exactly what I was doing before taking the next step.

But almost every meaningful change I've made in my life started before I felt completely ready.

Moving countries.

Raising children.

Changing careers.

Starting a business.

Building something of my own.

I didn't have all the answers.

I just had enough courage for the ๐ง๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ.

And then another.

And another.

Maybe you're waiting to feel ready for something right now.

I spent many years believing that having a good job was the responsible thing to do.

Work hard.
Pay the bills.
Save what you can.
Repeat.

But somewhere along the way, my thinking changed.

Because even a good income can feel very different when one unexpected expense, job change or life event can throw everything off.

Today, I believe financial security isn't only about ๐ก๐จ๐ฐ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐œ๐ก ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง.

I'm grateful every single day that I did.
