“Having learned to turn old bed sheets into braided rugs at the age of three, I was raised to believe that any cloth that came into our house had to pull its own weight. By that I mean, whether it was clothing or a domestic textile, it would have a second use. […] Styles and trends would be rethought, and the end of “wearabilty” was not an end of life.”

We love Joe Lewis’ artist statement - read it on our blog (link in bio or search Joe Lewis on our blog) - and we love his current exhibition at PS707 just as much. The colours, the textures, the stories he can tell you about every scrap of fibre that made it into these works.

Joe Lewis’ Second Hand Rose Revisited: A Triptych, is on view for the next few weeks.

Immortal Spirits is a fundraising event in support of the Centre for Social Innovation which has, for 21 years and counting, hosted and supported thousands of changemakers and nonprofits. In the 15 years that this particular building has been open, tens of thousands of people have come through the CSI Annex doors for time and space to learn, connect, and make a difference.

Que lindo! 🍹Throughout the evening, we had 60 people show up to celebrate the opening of ’ exhibition, Origins & Endings at . 🎟️ It was beautiful, fun, and so sweet to meet new people, and hear everyone’s comments on the show and the space… We love both too!! ❤️ Shout out to for pushing the conventions around presenting contemporary art! Today we give the artist a rest, then tomorrow (Sunday) he will return to present an artist talk at 4pm. Join us all afternoon at for a free art fiesta. Local Mexican-Canadian artists 👩‍🎨🎨will be showing and selling work, there will be music, piñatas, and delicious authentic Mexican food 🌮 made by .ca.

As communities worldwide grapple with ecological anxiety and social disconnection, Sebastian Portillo’s stunning images mythologize our innermost concerns and imaginaries.

A powerful mediation on cycles of creation and destruction, individual loss and cosmic renewal, Origins & Endings invites viewers to contemplate their relationship to personal and universal themes.
