加拿大為香港永久居民申請人士實施新的臨時政策
New temporary public policy to benefit Hong Kong permanent residence applicants

Starting May 27, 2024, open work permits will be available to those who both
- applied for permanent residence under Stream A (in-Canada graduates) or Stream B (Canadian work experience) of the temporary public policy for Hong Kong residents in Canada, and
- held a work or study permit in the 3 years before their application for permanent residence was received

The new public policy will remain in place for 5 years so that applicants can extend their temporary status in Canada while the processing of their permanent residence application continues.

Canada makes it easier for Hong Kongers to stay and work in Canada
Paul Chiang, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion (Diversity and Inclusion) and Member of Parliament for Markham—Unionville, announced on behalf of the Honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, the removal of the education requirement under the Canadian work experience stream (Stream B) of the Hong Kong permanent residence pathways effective August 15, 2023. This means that more Hong Kongers with Canadian work experience will be eligible for permanent residence, as they will no longer be restricted by their education status. It also simplifies the application process, as applicants will no longer be required to submit proof of education.

This amendment complements the recent extension and expansion of open work permits for Hong Kong residents and further assists the transition from temporary to permanent residence for Hong Kong residents. Through implementing these measures, Canada will be able to attract individuals who have already gained Canadian work experience. This will open doors of opportunity for skilled individuals from Hong Kong to contribute their unique skills and experiences to Canada’s diverse workforce.

加拿大出臺新舉措，方便香港人在加國居留和工作

2023年7月11日，聯邦住房、多元和包容事務部長的議會秘書（多元及包容事務）、萬錦-於人村國會議員蔣振宇（Paul Chiang）舉行新聞發佈會，代表移民、難民和公民部長肖恩·弗雷澤(Sean Fraser)宣佈：從2023年8月15日起，對香港永久居留通道中的加拿大工作經驗類別（B類別）將取消教育要求。這意味著更多擁有加拿大工作經驗的香港人將不再受自身教育學曆的限制，有資格獲得永久居留權。此舉還簡化了申請流程，因為申請人不再需要提交教育證明。

這項修訂措施是近期為香港居民延長和拓展開放式工作許可證之政策的進一步行動，將進一步協助香港居民從臨時居留過渡到永久居留。通過實施這些措施，加拿大將得以吸引已經獲得加拿大工作經驗的人士。這將為香港的有技能的人士打開機會之門，為加拿大多元化的勞動力貢獻他們獨特的技能和經驗。

Carefirst provides more than services for seniors, walk-in clinic is available for those without a family doctor.

We are excited to announce the launch of the Carefirst Community Care Clinic, our new walk-in clinic initiative for the Markham community and surrounding neighborhoods!

The Community Care Clinic offers medical assessment, referrals and assistance with treatment by a nurse practitioner to those experiencing minor ailments (including cold, strep, flu, fever, sore throat and other similar symptoms). Our services are available but limited for non-OHIP holders.

Ontario government is doubling the number of economic immigrants it selects in 2025 to over 18,000 to help solve the province’s critical labor shortage.

Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, Monte McNaughton: With nearly 300,000 jobs going unfilled daily, this will allow Ontario to select more of the workers needed to fill gaps in critical industries like the skilled trades, technology, and health care.
From 9,000 immigration spots in 2021 to over 18,000 in 2025.
Ontario reached its allocation of 9,750 immigrants through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program in 2022, including 3,900 skilled trades workers, 2,200 software and IT workers, and nearly 100 nurses and personal support workers.
加拿大安大略省政府將2025年經濟移民的名額增加一倍，至超過18,000個名額！

勞工廳長Monte McNaughton表示：由於每天都有近30萬個空缺的工作崗位，這項政策可以讓安省選擇更多重要的工人來填補技術貿易、科技、醫療保健等關鍵行業的崗位空缺。
