You've finished your 1st Pomodoro. Great! 25 minutes of uninterrupted work. Good stuff. Time for a 5 minute break.

Use these 5 minute breaks as your time to . Activities such as getting some , closing your eyes, splashing cold water on your face, or getting some can work well. The important thing is that you aren't working or thinking about work during this time period. For example, checking email, Facebook, or Instagram during breaks is not advisable because it gets your mind going and may send you down the rabbit hole of endless information on the Internet.

Using the is Easy

1. Choose your task. Often the most important one is the more difficult one. It should take you at least 25 min to complete.

2. Use 25 minutes for this task. The 25 min time block is known as a . You can never do half a Pomodoro. Do not work on anything else. If you get distracted, gently bring yourself back to work. It happens. Relax. If your distraction pulls you away from the task at hand, cancel the Pomodoro by resetting the timer to 0. Over time, this technique will condition you to exclusively on the task at hand, and will increase your and discipline.

3. The timer has ended. Hooray! Get up, stretch, get some more water, do a happy dance. You have 5 minutes of a break time until you start the next Pomodoro.

What he means is you shouldn't wish for less problems, but wish for more skills in handling them.

greet us every day. They always make a point to appear before us in this journey of ours.

Some abandon the journey while some accept the challenge and try to overcome it. Some overcome it while others succumb to the demand.



Start by doing something valuable that can help you become more valuable.

Transitions are hard but without that, we would stick to the routine and become stagnant. It would be hard to leave the comfort zone if we resist the transition. Start Small to ease the fear of transition.

If you can’t read a book in a week, start with five to six pages a day.

If you can’t exercise daily, start with five to six pull-ups, push-ups, or at least make a point to walk where you can and climb instead of using an elevator.

Small changes add up to make you more valuable.

It won’t change for better in one day but it will accumulate over time to lift you up.

Regardless of the number of or endless lists that you may carry, we are all prone to mind games that sabotage our ability to .

You might think - why do I need to write down a list of things to do in the first place? My memory is great. I don't need to write anything down.

Think again. There is good research that shows people are significantly more likely to follow through on a task if they write it down.

Berry Schwarz, author of Paradox of Choice, makes a strong point in his book and popular TED talk that with larger number of choices, it becomes harder for us to choose. Additionally it leaves us dissatisfied. Analysis terms into paralysis. The same is true for your task list, the more tasks you have, the harder it will be to get actual work done.

Human beings are completionists. We like to finish things. Close the loop. Hear the end of the story. See the happy ending to the movie. This is why a small amount of is what you should keep to help you get the most important tasks done and make you feel not paralyzed.
