First byline! I've spent my career helping brands tell their stories, so it was nice to tell one for a change.

My first piece for the Pub Magazine is on Wasaga Beach Brewing Company. David Cubitt launched it over a weekend 14 years ago with a simple idea: a town with 2 million visitors a year should have its own b**r. Now there's a branded Jeep, a vintage motorhome, a band, and a can you can spot from across the beach. That's brand-building done right.

Read it here (page 20): https://www.pubmagazine.ca

Thanks to Billy Perrie for the opportunity, and the next story is in the works.

Inspired by a book. Moved to a brand. Built by a human.

Tina Hardt wrote Charm Casting and was inspired by Why Not! to create the Charm Casting Academy — and the Say What! team built the brand. No robots, just real human designers.

Grab your own copy of Why Not! and see where your idea could go.

Why Not! is avaialble at

A sweet review!

This one stopped me in my tracks. Jaclyn and Kathryn at Foxglove Books in Stouffville didn't just stock Why Not! — they read it. And this is what they had to say.

"It's not a dry corporate textbook. It's just real, homegrown inspiration."
That's exactly what I set out to write. Grateful doesn't cover it.

Why Not! is on the shelves now at Foxglove Books, 6258 Main St., Stouffville — inside Redfined Finds. Or grab your copy at whynotthebook.com

Tina wrote her book. Why Not! inspired the Academy.

That's the story of Tina Hardt's Charm Casting Academy — new brand, same magic, now with homework.

What idea can Say What! bring to life for you?

the Charm Casting Academy brand is coming...

A big welcome to our new client: Stained Glass Centre for Performing Arts!

Stouffville's downtown destination for great performances — housed in a historical venue just north of Main Street, with amazing acoustics and state-of-the-art sound and lighting.

We're thrilled to be moving their idea to a brand. Watch for their new look coming this fall!

This is exactly the kind of work we wrote the book about — Why Not! Move Your Idea to a Brand is out now at saywhat.com. Got an idea of your own? We'd love to chat with you about it.

Say What! — ideas to brands.
