The Opportunity This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established industry association through the foreseeable future and preside over considerable change in the Road Building industry in Ontario.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for achieving the goals and objectives as set by the board for fully satisfying its members needs and interests and for making TARBA and its services successful in all aspects, including financial performance.
The successful Executive Director will oversee the development of strategies, tools, and techniques to further develop the association, while building for the future.
The Executive Director oversees all aspects of our Association from Marketing and Communications, to management of membership, and even funding strategies, and day to day operations.
The Executive Director will serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization with stakeholders, media, and the general public.
• Must have a successful track record of Organizational Leadership
• Must be able to Provide entrepreneurial leadership for the organization to ensure long-term success Must have the knowledge and experience to implement the organization's strategic vision.
• Must Serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors.
• The Executive Director is a true hands-on role keeping in tune with member needs and interests, managing staff and ensuring the strategic plan is achieved in a timely fashion.
The Executive Director will personally manage several of their own projects. Responsibilities for working independently and accountability to the board.
Qualifications/Experience/Education Required
• In depth knowledge/experience with the Road Building Industry
• Proven management and people management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, self-starter
• Well organized
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to translate strategy into operational task assignments
• Strong financial management skills
• Entrepreneurial and business savvy, able to keep a fast pace while successfully moving several projects forward simultaneously
• University degree or equivalent working experience
