I have opened my doors again but with conditions in place, masks need to be worn, sanitizer is available on sight and if you don’t have a mask, I can provide you with one. Due to the limits to our freedom imposed on us by this virus, it has caused our mental health to be taxed, so I am offering to visit you at your residence or you can come to my office, I wear a mask either way.

In these times of confusion, uncertainty and isolation, it’s not unusual to feel depressed, we are experiencing a whole new normal. You don’t have to feel alone. Support is just a call away, if you feel the need. We live in the time of advanced technology and you can still “see” your friends, just not in person, through Zoom and FaceTime. We are people of touch, which means we crave the handshakes, the hugs and the pats on the backs, we need touch but with our new norm, our touch has also changed. Those that can’t accept this change are getting sick or getting others sick but patience is needed before we start the physical touch again, and it will happen because we need it and we will find the way to do it again safely

In these trying times mental health is at its highest, dealing with life and lifestyle changes. This has caused undue stress and higher anxiety issues than we have had to deal with before. Coping is put at the test and unfortunately a lot of us are failing so I am offering to “ meet” with anyone that wishes to just talk and relieve some of the stresses. We can do FaceTime or Zoom and if this is something you wish to continue we can make it affordable on an individual basis, I just want to make sure you have a healthy outlet, my number is 613-243-0170, it costs nothing for the first hour so reach out.

We don’t trust. Our feelings have been hurt, our hearts have been broken, lost a loved one, been betrayed, or friendship ended. All of this results in us feeling that we can’t trust anymore, anyone or anything. We live a guarded life and believe if we don’t take risks, we won’t get hurt. We just end up hurting ourselves, we start to die inside, a little at a time, until we realize that pain, loss and broken hearts are a part of life. Instead of locking your trust away, we need to reach out to the ones we know we can trust, and share those thoughts and feelings and questions. Stop carrying them yourselves. Problems shared become half but shared love becomes doubled, start by loving yourself

To all of my friends who have First Nation heritage, understand this; you cannot have a good mind if you think bad thoughts about others, you cannot have a good heart if you carry anger bitterness resentment or judgement for others and you cannot walk in a good way on the Red Path if you don’t have a good mind and a good heart ......: this what I understand

Makes sense eh?

I think we need to rethink this texting and facebooking and other forms of digital communication. I want you to know that it is your breath in my face not just you words that help me, it is your actual smile that lifts my spirits not your emoji, that it is you touch and hugs that help heal my spirit and the look in your eyes when you tell me you care. If we don’t start doing these things, face to face, we will get sicker as a society, so help me heal and let’s visit and talk more
