Nobody tells you about this part đŸ€

You imagined the sleepless nights. You braced for the diapers, the feedings, the chaos. But no one warned you about the mood swings that hit out of nowhere, the sheets you’d need to change because you’re soaked in sweat, or the rage that bubbles up when you’re running on fumes and everyone still needs a piece of you.

If you’ve felt any of this and quietly wondered “is something wrong with me?” — nothing is wrong with you. Your body just grew a human. Your hormones are recalibrating. Your nervous system is adjusting to a love so big it’s almost too much to hold.
Postpartum is not a straight line from “exhausted” to “glowing.” It’s messy, hormonal, beautiful, and hard — sometimes all in the same hour.

You are allowed to be overjoyed and overwhelmed at once. You are allowed to need rest. You are allowed to be human, too. 🌾
Swipe through and save this for the day you need the reminder. And tell me — which one hit closest to home? 👇

The postpartum products for moms that actually get used vs. what sits in a drawer đŸ—ƒïž

Used constantly: peri bottle, a GOOD waterbottle that actually keeps your water cold, comfy clothes, “granny panties”/knix underwear (because yes, you’ll bleed and you will be sore — trust me, you want something comfy, whether you delivery vaginally or by c-section). Burp cloth stash (you’ll never have too many), baby wipes/diy baby wipes (you’ll take them everywhere and use them for everything.. even as they get older!). Good nursing bras/tank tops.

Used once, then forgotten: fancy nursing pillow accessories, literally half of the “must have” gadgets on registries.

What you ACTUALLY need is simpler than the checklists make it seem.

Save this before your baby shower registry gets out of hand 🙃 âœ‹đŸ»

A day in the life of a newborn’s “sleep schedule” (and why it feels chaotic) 🌙

Newborns don’t have a schedule yet - they have a rhythm you’re both learning.

Wake windows are super short. 45-60 mins is totally normal, not a fluke.

Cluster feeding in the evening does NOT mean something is wrong (they could just be going through something as simple as a growth spurt).

Day/night confusion is real and temporary.

This chaos has a pattern underneath it — and it gets easier to read as you learn about normal baby biology (I break this down fully in the guide).

So basically, a baby under 5 months old will have no ounce of a sleep schedule. However, you can have a rhythm to your day that is conducive to helping with their sleep!

Which month was the hardest for you with your baby’s sleep? Let me know in the comments! ✹

Signs you’re touched out as a mom and don’t even realized it âœ‹đŸ»

âžĄïž You flinch when someone hugs you. Not because you don’t love your family. You just desperately want 10 minutes where nobody needs your body.

âžĄïž Your skin crawls a little when your partner reaches for you. Not because you don’t love his touch, but because you’ve had kids hanging off you all day and just need to embrace having your body to yourself for a minute.

âžĄïž You need 5 minutes alone in the bathroom just to feel like a person again. Why do kids always feel the need to be on your lap even while you p*e?

âžĄïž You crave being alone more than usual.

âžĄïžYou get irritated when someone asks for “one more thing.”
It’s not the request. It’s that your nervous system is already saying, “I have nothing left to give.”

âžĄïžYou feel overstimulated by EVERYTHING.
Noise.
Questions.
Climbing.
Crying.
Someone saying “Mom?” 47 times.

âžĄïžYou feel guilty for wanting personal space. You wonder, “What’s wrong with me?”
Nothing.
You may simply be touched out and overstimulated.

Being touched out doesn’t mean you’re a bad mom. đŸ€
It means you’re a human being who has been needed a lot.
Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give yourself a little space to come back to yourself.

5 things I wish someone told me before I had a baby đŸ‘‡đŸ»

1. You will not “just know” what to do. Nobody does. You end up Googling everything or doom scrolling socials to figure it out.

2. The house will not always be clean. Some days, but mostly never. Especially as they get older. Let it go.

3. “Sleep when the baby sleeps” is the worst advice ever given. Your mind never shuts off and you won’t actually sleep. And if you do, they wake up.

4. You’ll grieve your old life a little, even while loving your new one. That’s normal.

5. You need a plan more than you need advice. Single, married, divorced, working, not working
. It matters. (That’s why I built one — more on that soon 👀)

Hey, I’m Chantel đŸ€

Labour & delivery nurse, mom of two, and infant sleep & well-being specialist.

I’ve supported hundreds of moms through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum... & I’ve also lived it myself.

Here’s the truth:
No one really prepares you for what happens after baby arrives.

⁉The questions.
🙉The anxiety.
đŸ€łđŸ»The constant Googling at 2am wondering if everything is normal.

That’s why I’m here — to give you honest, reassuring, real-life guidance through the first year postpartum.

If you’re a new mom (or about to be), you’re in the right place. đŸ«¶đŸ»

“How much sleep does my baby actually need?”

If you’ve ever found yourself Googling this at 2am with a baby on your chest
 you’re not alone.

The truth is, baby sleep isn’t one-size-fits-all. Figuring out how much sleep a baby needs isn’t just about numbers—it’s about understanding your baby’s developmental stage, biology, and cues. Here are the key steps to guide you:

1. Know the General Sleep Ranges by Age.
đŸ‘‰đŸ» Use developmental guidelines as a starting point:
0–3 months: 14–17 hours in 24 hrs (including day/night confusion)
4–6 months: 12–16 hours (with 3–4 naps)
7–12 months: 12–15 hours (2–3 naps)
1–2 years: 11–14 hours (usually 1 nap)
These are ranges, not rigid rules.

2. Track Your Baby’s Sleep Over 3–5 Days
đŸ‘‰đŸ»Write down:
When they sleep and wake
Nap lengths
Overnight stretches
Signs of tiredness vs. overtiredness
This helps you spot patterns and total sleep time.

3. Observe Baby’s Behavior, Not Just the Clock
đŸ‘‰đŸ»Are they:
Happy and alert when awake?
Fussing or resisting naps/bedtime?
Waking frequently at night?
Sleep quality and timing matter more than hitting exact hour goals.

4. Adjust Based on Their Age + Cues
đŸ‘‰đŸ»If your baby seems overtired, gradually shift bedtime earlier or add rest opportunities. Some babies thrive with more than the “average”—others with less.

5. Use a Flexible Routine (Not a Rigid Schedule)
đŸ‘‰đŸ»Babies aren’t robots. Especially in the first year, they need rhythm—not strict clocks. Anchoring the day with consistent wake, nap, and bedtime windows can help.

If you’re feeling confused, overwhelmed, or just need someone to break it down with compassion and facts
