Canadian Handywoman

Canadian Handywoman Hey there! I’m Tammy. I help busy women make sense of their homes so they don't have to panic when something goes sideways.

Okay… August has been VERY good to Canadian Handywoman! 🛠️😊

I get to announce cool opportunity #3 this month…

I’m heading to Toronto this fall to speak at the National Fall Home Show! 🎤🏠

My session, Before Winter Arrives: 8 Things Your Home Is Trying to Tell You, is all about recognizing those little clues around your home before they become bigger, more expensive problems.

Getting to take Canadian Handywoman to the National Fall Home Show stage? Yep… I’m pretty excited about this one! 😊

More details to come!

Grab your hard hat, we're building something amazing! 👷‍♀️🔨

Join us for our Women Build Day on Tuesday, September 15th, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, as we help build homes for 3 local Indigenous families in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. It's been almost a decade since our last one, and we're so excited to bring it back!

No experience needed! You'll be learning from two incredible leaders:
🔨 Tammy Watson, owner of Canadian Handywoman, who teaches women how to use tools and get comfortable tackling home repairs.
For more information about Canadian Handywoman visit her website: https://canadianhandywoman.com/
🏠 Deb Wilson, Director of Construction for Habitat for Humanity Northumberland, bringing years of hands-on building experience.

Come learn something new, meet amazing women, and help build a home for a family who needs it. Spots are limited, so don't wait. Register today and be part of something you'll be talking about for years to come. 💕

A pretty exciting one to share!

I’m thrilled to be joining Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings Women Build Day in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory as a Build Leader & Tool Instructor!

I’ll be helping with tool demonstrations, guiding participants through their roles, and helping everyone work safely and confidently alongside an experienced Habitat build team.

And really… could there be a better fit for Canadian Handywoman? 😊

So much of what I do is about helping women get comfortable picking up tools, trying something new, asking questions and realizing, “Hey, I CAN do this!”

I’m really looking forward to being part of a day where women get to learn, build and put those skills into action — while helping Habitat for Humanity at the same time.

Want to join? There’s still time to sign up for the Women Build! Participants commit to raising a minimum of $100 in support of Habitat for Humanity — and you’ll get to spend the day learning, building and making a difference. Register at https://women-build-2026-peh.raiselysite.com/

Come build with us! 💪🔨

Taking a little time away from the tools this week! 🏕️🥾

I’m camping up north, getting in some trail time, fresh air and a bit of a reset.

I’ll still be checking in here and there, but Canadian Handywoman is mostly off duty for the week. If you’ve sent me a message or email, I’ll get back to you when I’m back.

Sometimes the To Do List can wait. 😊

Drywall repairs and hanging heavy stuff doesn’t have to be scary!

In my latest Handywoman Hangout, I cover finding studs, picking the right anchors, and fixing wall holes like a pro.

Want to practice these skills hands-on with me? Reach out and ask about joining the next in-person workshop on Sept 22 in Quinte West!

Fall is shaping up to be a busy one for Canadian Handywoman! 🔨

I’ve got lots of opportunities coming up to learn, practise, ask questions and build your Home Confidence — and there’s a little something for everyone.

🔨 Intro to Your Toolbox – 3-Hour Intensives
🖼️ Focused hands-on workshops, including the new Hang It Right: Drills & Wall Anchors
📚 Community and library workshops through some great local partnerships
🎤 Speaking events where I’ll be taking Home Confidence to the stage

Some are free, some are paid, some are quick and focused, and others give us a few hours to really get our hands on the tools.

I’ve put everything that’s coming up in one place — with more still to be added!
