I hired my first coach because I was tired of being STUCK!

And this investment scared me in so many ways:

➡ I was scared I couldn't afford the $7,000 USD investment

➡ I was scared of being judged for getting support

➡ I was scared nothing would change

➡ I was scared so much would change I wouldn't like it

I felt the fear in my chest - it was like my heart was beating out of my chest and all the butterflies had been unleash in my body.

But I invested anyway.

There was a whisper inside me that said "you need this" and I knew that if I didn't sign up not only would nothing change but in fact it would get worse.

I'd have more sleepless nights,
More fights with my family around time
Less creativity in my business
Less enthusiasm
And more fear about the future

I also knew (from my university days) that when I invest financially I have skin in the game....

I'm less likely to bail, skip the work, not follow through.

I wanted to share a common belief I hear ALL.THE.TIME about boundaries:

➡ "I can’t set boundaries because no one will respect them."

I get it....I used to believe that too! Until I learned:

1. Boundaries are mine to create

2. Boundaries are mine to communicate

3. Boundaries are mine to hold

The mistake most people make is that they create boundaries but they DON'T COMMUNICATE THEM AND THEY THINK THEIR BOUNDARIES ARE FOR OTHERS TO HOLD.

➡ Shows up like: "You didn't respect my boundary"

➡ When really it is: "I didn't hold my boundary with you"

And this... right here is why they are NOT EASY to HOLD... because really it is up to us.

People don't cross our boundaries without us letting them.

Many people choose not to have boundaries because they worry about what others will think, about hurting people, about being left out....

It is self doubt, it is a lack of confidence and not having healthy boundaries is creating resentment, making you work way more, give way more of your time and creating unhealthy relationships.

One of the best things I ever did for myself was start waking up earlier than my family. I'll be clear... when it was first suggested that I purposely wake up BEFORE my kiddo I rejected the idea. However, I was open to change because the way I was feeling each morning was NOT how I wanted to feel.

This habit I created has been a gamechanger for me because I get:

⏰ time to connect with myself
⏰ time to move my body
⏰ time to practice breathwork
⏰ time to drink my coffee while it's hot
⏰ TIME !

Instead of rolling out of bed and feeling annoyed that I've been woken up by my child (or dog) I meet them when they wake with gratitude and love. I'm happy to see them and that is a much better way for us all to start our days.

And you can't have a solid morning without a solid sleep - they go hand in hand. It's habits and this is what I help my clients do!

3 biggest time wasters:

1- participating in drama
2 - using a "to do" list
3 - not having boundaries

How can you fix it?

1 - choose not to participate in drama. Ask yourself "is this an effective use of my time?" With the time you have, what can you be doing instead?

2 - Embed your time right into your calendar. Assign a time, priority and block time in your calendar.

3 - Boundaries - Have them. Use them. Hold them.

So, I've been having lots of conversations with all you ambitious driven peeps and a common theme right now is how overwhelmed and chaotic people are feeling - so I'm going to share some breathwork tips you can do to help you calm your nervous system and create some space to think (and breathe)!

Why Breathwork?

1. it is an easy to access tool we have right here, right now
2. It can activate your parasympathetic nervous system to help you rest, relax and feel more grounded
3. It allows you to focus on your breath, connect with yourself and shut out the noise around you
4. It is great for transitions... home to work, work to home - release the stress before engaging with others

3) Start with breath awareness. Notice your breathing - if you are :
- holding your breath
- breathing through your mouth
- or taking shallow breaths ..your sympathetic nervous system is activated (Fight/flight)

TIP: 3 slow deep breaths in and out just through your nose
Result: feel your body start to relax....do a few more until you settle.
