Last week was a whirlwind! 3rd quarter wrap up with some regular business tasks like GST and PST reporting, community events, Hallowe'en busy-ness, and I wrapped up a 2 year contract with Community Futures as a Program Ambassador for their Disaster Recovery Initiative for businesses in the Okanagan Similkameen. Honoured to be part of that effort to support local small businesses and organizations recover from challenging times. Thank you to the team for a supportive 2 years and thank you to the businesses for all they do in our small, rural, communities. 🤍

The program is still going on til March 31, 2025 and there are some great no cost workshops available to businesses in eligible regions whether you were affected by a disaster or not. Check out https://mycommunityfuturesbc.ca/ for more details and to sign up.

We are officially into the final quarter of 2024. How is it going for you? Are you on track to what you set out to achieve this year?

I like the general premise of this quote as we strive to work in an excuse free zone. But sometimes an excuse can highlight the need for a bit of deeper thinking and curiousity before tossing an idea or goal to the side completely.

If your vision and why are crystal clear - and you did some basic analysis around the idea - and you really want to do something - you will find a way. ️😊 It may be bumpy, it make take longer than you had hoped, the end result may have shifted a bit as you learned along the way - but if it was a worthwhile goal/vision - usually the results are positive.

As you do some of the analysis and research - and you find yourself finding or making excuses why it won't work - do a check in with yourself - are they valid reasons why something wouldn't work - are they wishy washy - or are the excuses based in lack of confidence, skills, knowledge? Working with businesses as they dream and plan and execute we see a variety of thought processes that set people up for success or lay the ground work for self sabotage! There are so many organizations, business networks, training opportunities, and people out there that can help you on your journey to help define road blocks worth over coming or valid reasons for stopping or shifting your goal. Look for them and get connected!

Being an entrepreneur or small business owner can be tough as there are many unknowns and many challenging days. Which is why we like to support our clients in getting clarity on where they are going and what they want to create with their business. Strategizing, setting priorities, and creating action plans are a regular occurence around here. 😀 Have you got a clear vision for your company? Have you got goals and objectives and some dreams written down for the year? 4th quarter is coming up and it is a great time to regroup and finish the year off strong!

Progress over perfection - progress over perfection - progress over perfection! Ha ha. That is a mantra that I have to keep telling myself. 🩷 Shout out to these three amazing entrepreneurs and wellness warriors who did not hesitate to dive in and have a recorded wellness conversation with me even though we were testing out a new platform and creating something new without a full on plan! 😎 Each show I learned something new about the camera, lighting, sound etc. and I am fine tuning my set up, my strategy, and creating my 'what's next' action steps.
