URGENT COMMUNITY SUPPORT NEEDED

A single mama of 2 little girls needs economic support to avoid eviction next week.

Mary is, without question, doing her best to fulfill her family’s needs but is really struggling and would benefit hugely from community support at this time.

I’ve been helping Mary as best I can and now am reaching into my community to do more.

Immediate financial needs are rent coverage for May 1st, outstanding utility bill coverage, and money so she can have her phone reconnected.

The food bank has been her main source of groceries and it would be extra wonderful to gather enough financial donations for her to fill her cupboard and fridge.

I’ve organized a donation link via my non-profit organization so I can get all donated funds to her immediately.

Any amount helps.

FYI: Reaching for the BIG IMPACTFUL stuff too soon can actually do more harm than good…

…when you lack the knowledge needed to sustain yourself.

Example:

You want to offer a sponsorship for your coaching program.

Super rad initiative? Absolutely.

Where you’re setting yourself up to fail is in how you support the people awarded the sponsorship once they are part of your coaching community.

🏆 You have inclusive values.

🤔 But does everyone in your community?

⁉️ How well do you know your clients, customers and team?

Think about a situation when you’re in a team meeting or on a group coaching call - if people in your community have no understanding of bias awareness and how to mitigate their own unconscious biases - they are in prime position to cause unintentional harm.

Knowing your people is imperative to co-creating inclusive space with them.

In this case, you’re better off skipping the scholarship (for now) and focusing on unlearning and relearning your own bias awareness so you can have this conversation with your community.

🛑 Can you confidently discuss ways to mitigate bias?

🛑 Can you confidently guide yourself when YOUR biases are reactive?

Biases, we all have them.

Not one of us is immune.

It’s just how our brains are wired.

As much fun as it is to thrown s**t against a fan and hope for positive results …

the same sort of vibe is what happens when a founder or leader operates their business without structure and systems for inclusion.

( if they have values around creating spaces where people feel they belong )

A s**t hot mess is the result.

Every
Single
Time

Sometimes, the mess happens loudly and everyone knows what’s up.

Most times tho, it’s a quiet harm that occurs and is never resolved.

Leaders often have no clue they are causing harm - as those hurt suppress their experience or leave the business altogether.

What I’m here to change is your personal approach to your leadership style and business structure that supports your values.

Today’s tip:

👉🏾 Look at your systems and find areas where the structure lacks support for diverse needs.
