❗FLAGPOLING SET TO END - WILL NO LONGER BE AN OPTION❗

Flagpoling is the newcomers bypass regular wait times associated with applying online for work or study permit, by leaving Canada, and then immediately re-entering the country to receive same-day immigration services at a port of entry.

Today, the Immigration Minister Marc Miler, has announced that people will no longer be able to flagpole to obtain same-day service for immigration applications.

The exact date of implement hasn't announced yet, but IRCC is looking to implement it "AS SOON AS POSSIBLE".

❗IRCC to remove LMIA-based job offer points from Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System❗

The IRCC announced that the LMIA-based job offer points from Express Entry CRS will remove soon.

The exact date of implementation has not been determined, but it is expected to take effect in the near future.

❗NEW INFORMATION RELEASED - RURAL COMMUNITY IMMIGRATION PILOT❗

As of December 17, 2024, the requirements of the Rural Community Immigration Pilot have been released.

The Rural Community Immigration Class is a pathway for foreign nationals who can help overcome labour shortages in designated communities, and want to reside in the rural communities long term.

To qualify, applicants must meet criteria for :
- Work experience
- Education
- A genuine job offer
- Language proficiency
- Proof of funds
- Intent to reside

📌Last invitations to apply in 2024 for BC PNP Skills Immigration streams

On December 10, 2024, the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) will be issuing the last draw of the year for the Skilled Worker and Entry Level & Semi-Skilled streams. These streams will continue to accept registrations for future invitations to apply (ITAs).

The Health Authority stream will continue to accept applications.

The International Post-Graduate (IPG) stream will remain open to applications from international students who meet eligibility requirements as of December 31, 2024. Applications to the IPG stream will be accepted until 9 am, January 7, 2025.

✔️Before November 8, 2024
For international students in Canada with a valid study permit:

1. High School to University Transition: Existing study permits can be used.

2. Changing Universities: Update the DLI (Designated Learning Institution) number through your IRCC online account without applying for a new study permit.

✔️After November 8, 2024
1. High School to University Transition: A new study permit application is required.

2. Changing Universities: A new study permit application is required (includes co-op permits).

Exceptions:

1. Transitioning from primary to secondary school or changing schools within these levels.

2. Changing programs or courses at the same DLI.

New International Student Program💬



Today, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, confirmed that new regulations impacting the International Student Program have now taken effect, including the change to the number of hours international students may work off campus that was proposed earlier this year. With this change, eligible students can now work up to 24 hours per week off campus while their classes are in session.

Moving forward, international students must apply and be approved for a new study permit before changing learning institutions.
