Round 446 landed today. Canadian Experience Class, 2,000 invitations, cut-off 518.

You will see this posted as another drop. Here is the part worth knowing.

Three CEC rounds in a row have gone out at exactly 2,000 invitations: 521 on 1 September, 519 on 15 September, 518 today. Same draw size each time, so it is a fair comparison — and the move is three points in four weeks.

Not a crash. Not a collapse. And not something to wait out.

A cut-off is not a standard anyone set. It is the score of the last person invited in that round. On 18 August it sat at 523 because IRCC invited only 1,000 people. Fewer invitations, higher score.

If you are counting the gap between your score and this one, that gap is not the thing to plan around.

You may have seen that Canada now assesses visitor visas against 40+ criteria.

Those forty criteria decide something else entirely — whether a country’s citizens need a visa at all. Public safety, passport integrity, tourism, migration trends. They are not about you.

On an individual application, IRCC names three key indicators: travel history, family ties to your home country, and employment.

Nothing changed this month. A transparency document was published, and it described what officers were already doing.

An officer weighs what is in the file. Anything you did not show is not weighed — it is simply absent. That part is fixable, and the time to fix it is before you submit.
