Join us for the Specialty Coffee Tasting, a monthly event that brings together coffee lovers from all backgrounds! Every third Saturday, we gather at the Green Cuisine Specialty Coffee Roastery, located at the courtyard level of Market Square in Downtown Victoria, BC. Each session has a unique theme inspired by the interests of that week’s attendees, making every tasting a fresh experience.

Your ticket includes a handcrafted specialty coffee beverage and a thoughtfully curated food pairing, inviting you to savor each sip and bite. All coffees served meet the highest quality and ethical standards of the specialty coffee industry, ensuring that every cup is as responsible as it is delicious.

This month’s tasting is hosted by Praveen Ponraj, Founder, Coffee Artist, and Biodiversity Conservation Photographer at Climate Wave Coffee Research Institute and Academy. This is your chance to unwind, connect, and explore the art and culture of specialty coffee.

As the only café in Victoria as of today that serves climate-positive coffee, Green Cuisine Vegetarian Restaurant is leading the climate action movement. Green Cuisine has joined our Climate Positive Cafe Collective program as its first member. Since then, the café and its customers have embraced nature-based climate solutions and helped capture 3777 kilograms of greenhouse gases from the environment. Unlike other carbon offset programs where emissions are created by one industry and offset by purchasing from another industry, our program utilizes a holistic approach to reducing emissions from the root and within the coffee industry itself. This holistic approach ensures that our efforts are directly contributing to sustainability within our own industry rather than relying on external offsets that may not have the same direct impact or accountability.

Each cup of coffee you drink at Green Cuisine ensures that old-growth forests around the world are protected, biodiversity is enriched, workers are treated with respect, water is not polluted, and trees capture 300g of greenhouse gases.

From training aircraft engineers to mentoring professional baristas, that's the story of our founder and barista trainer, Praveen Ponraj. As an Aeronautical Engineer and Certified Project Manager, our founder gained experience in training engineers. His passion for coffee and its positive impact led him to establish the Climate Wave Coffee Institute for Climate Action program. Through this program, he now coaches professional baristas to create art with low-carbon footprint milk, reduce food waste, and cultivate a culture of climate action in the workplace.
