For years, Jeff and I thought feeling stressed, stretched thin, and constantly waiting for “someday” was just life.

Our life looked like a hamster wheel:

👉🏻Work.
👉🏻Pay bills.
👉🏻Wait for the weekend.
👉🏻Repeat.

We rationalised the long hours, the work travel, the pay that never quite matched our commitment and worth by saying :

“It’ll be better in a few years”
“Once we get the promotion, it will be better”
“It needs to be hard right now”
“We’ll travel more later.”
“We’ll spend more time together later.”
“We’ll enjoy life more later”
“We’ll pursue our hobbies later.”
“We’ll enjoy life more later.”

Do any of these sound familiar? 😮‍💨

But you know what?

❌Later never came.
❌Someday never came.
❌When we visualised our life 5 years down the road, we saw no difference.

Then came multiple layoffs, followed by financial uncertainty, and years of putting our dreams on hold.

It was then that we realised:

👉🏻Nothing will change unless we change it.👈🏻

So….we pivoted.

The life we have today didn’t happen overnight.

It happened because we decided to stop waiting and start building.

👉🏻If you had more time, flexibility, and income...

What's the ONE thing you'd spend more time doing?

For me?

Gardening. 🌸🪴

I could happily spend hours planning, planting, weeding, and dreaming up ways to turn our yard into a sea of flowers. (I'm a flower ju**ie and proud of it 😂)

Before our business, I rarely made time for hobbies.

Not because I didn't enjoy them.

Because I felt guilty.

I was already working around family schedules, trying to squeeze everything into evenings and weekends, and I didn't want to take even more time away from Jeff and the girls.

So I let hobbies go.

Now?

I can spend time in the garden guilt-free.

And honestly, it's been incredible for my mental health, wellbeing, and happiness.

That's the real gift this business has given us.
Not stuff.

Not material things.

But more:
✨ time
✨ flexibility
✨ moments
✨ hobbies
✨ peace of mind
✨ space to breathe

We're Jeff & Mel. 🇨🇦

For years, we did what most people do:

✔️ Went to University;
✔️ Received the degrees;
✔️Worked long hours;
✔️ Chased promotions; and,
✔️ Climbed the ladder

But despite doing everything we were "supposed" to do, we still felt like we weren't getting ahead.

Between the two of us, we experienced six layoffs, financial uncertainty, opposite work schedules, and far too many moments where family time came second.

Eventually we realized something had to change.

We found a business model that fit our life, our values, and our goals.

It wasn't overnight.

It took consistency, effort, learning new skills, and following a proven system.

Today we have more choices, more flexibility, and more peace of mind than we ever thought possible.

❌No Monday morning blues over here.

✨Today, after school drop offs, we decided to go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine ☀️

❌There was no rushing, no meetings, no asking for time off, no counting down until Friday.

🙌This is the real flex of building an online business.

To be clear, this isn't about not wanting to work.

And it's definitely not about saying being an employee is wrong.

Some people genuinely love what they do, and that's amazing.

A coffee date at a new coffee shop we found while waiting for the birthday party our daughter was at to finish up.

Our view was of a quaint little street and in that moment, I was overcome with gratitude. 🙌

Not that long ago, dates like this rarely happened.

Our life was dictated by a spreadsheet where every purchase had to be well thought out. Living pay cheque to pay cheque took the joy out of spontaneously being able to enjoy a latte and be in the moment.

We were busy building someone else's schedule, living around work calendars, and squeezing life into whatever time was left over.

Now we're much more intentional about how we spend our time.

Because the older we get, the more we realize that time is the one thing we can never get back.

That's why we're so grateful we chose to do something different.

Not because we wanted more stuff.

Because we wanted more moments like this. Moments of being able to enjoy a spontaneous latte and not give it a second thought. ☕️ 🤎
