We had fear around trying something new, and when we were introduced to high-ticket online sales, the fear crept up:

What if it didn’t work?
What if we failed?
What will people think?

Then one day we realized we were asking the wrong question.

Instead of asking:

“What if it doesn’t work?”

We started asking:

▪️What if nothing changes?
▪️What if the bills keep increasing?
▪️What if another layoff happens?
▪️What if retirement comes faster than we expect?
▪️What if we’re having the exact same conversations five years from now?

These thoughts scared us more than anything because we had already experienced six layoffs and lived through major financial stress.

We knew we couldn’t keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.…so we decided to just look 👀

Not because we had big dreams of becoming online entrepreneurs.

But because we wanted more options, more freedom, and more peace of mind.

Today, we have:

✨Flexibility.
✨Breathing room financially.
✨We spend more time with our girls.
✨And we don’t live with the same stress we used to.

Looking back, the biggest risk wasn’t starting something new.

The biggest risk was staying exactly where we were.

A few hours of focused work this morning, and now we’re spending the rest of the day by the ocean. 🌊☀️

This is one of our favorite places to come and recharge. 😌

The feeling of having nowhere we need to be reminds us why we started this journey in the first place.

A little while ago, random mid-week moments like this weren’t part of our reality.

Couple time was something we had to schedule weeks in advance because my work consisted of day, evening, and weekend shifts which changed every week and Jeff travelled for work.

Today, things look very different.

Not because we stopped working.

But because we built something that gives us more flexibility, more options, and more control over our time.

The older we get, the more we realize that time is our most valuable asset.

And for us, spending a quiet afternoon by the ocean feels pretty priceless.

For years, Jeff and I thought feeling stressed, stretched thin, and constantly waiting for “someday” was just life.

Our life looked like a hamster wheel:

👉🏻Work.
👉🏻Pay bills.
👉🏻Wait for the weekend.
👉🏻Repeat.

We rationalised the long hours, the work travel, the pay that never quite matched our commitment and worth by saying :

“It’ll be better in a few years”
“Once we get the promotion, it will be better”
“It needs to be hard right now”
“We’ll travel more later.”
“We’ll spend more time together later.”
“We’ll enjoy life more later”
“We’ll pursue our hobbies later.”
“We’ll enjoy life more later.”

Do any of these sound familiar? 😮‍💨

But you know what?

❌Later never came.
❌Someday never came.
❌When we visualised our life 5 years down the road, we saw no difference.

Then came multiple layoffs, followed by financial uncertainty, and years of putting our dreams on hold.

It was then that we realised:

👉🏻Nothing will change unless we change it.👈🏻

So….we pivoted.

The life we have today didn’t happen overnight.

It happened because we decided to stop waiting and start building.

For years, every home project started with the same conversation:

“Maybe next year.”

“Let’s save up a bit more.”

These days, things look a little different.

Not because we won the lottery.

Not because we stopped working.

I want you to try something.

Close your eyes. 👀

Now imagine that money, time, and flexibility are no longer obstacles.

⚡️How do you feel?

The problem is that somewhere along the way, many of us stopped dreaming.

👉🏻If you had more time, flexibility, and income...

What's the ONE thing you'd spend more time doing?

For me?

Gardening. 🌸🪴

I could happily spend hours planning, planting, weeding, and dreaming up ways to turn our yard into a sea of flowers. (I'm a flower ju**ie and proud of it 😂)

Before our business, I rarely made time for hobbies.

Not because I didn't enjoy them.

Because I felt guilty.

I was already working around family schedules, trying to squeeze everything into evenings and weekends, and I didn't want to take even more time away from Jeff and the girls.

So I let hobbies go.

Now?

I can spend time in the garden guilt-free.

And honestly, it's been incredible for my mental health, wellbeing, and happiness.

That's the real gift this business has given us.
Not stuff.

Not material things.

But more:
✨ time
✨ flexibility
✨ moments
✨ hobbies
✨ peace of mind
✨ space to breathe

While I was gardening today, I found myself hoping that all of you have something in your life that brings you that same kind of joy.

We're Jeff & Mel. 🇨🇦

For years, we did what most people do:

✔️ Went to University;
✔️ Received the degrees;
✔️Worked long hours;
✔️ Chased promotions; and,
✔️ Climbed the ladder

But despite doing everything we were "supposed" to do, we still felt like we weren't getting ahead.

Between the two of us, we experienced six layoffs, financial uncertainty, opposite work schedules, and far too many moments where family time came second.

Eventually we realized something had to change.

We found a business model that fit our life, our values, and our goals.

It wasn't overnight.

It took consistency, effort, learning new skills, and following a proven system.

Today we have more choices, more flexibility, and more peace of mind than we ever thought possible.

Most importantly, we get to spend more time being parents first.

❌No Monday morning blues over here.

✨Today, after school drop offs, we decided to go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine ☀️

❌There was no rushing, no meetings, no asking for time off, no counting down until Friday.

🙌This is the real flex of building an online business.

To be clear, this isn't about not wanting to work.

And it's definitely not about saying being an employee is wrong.

Some people genuinely love what they do, and that's amazing.

For us, this was about creating options.

👉🏻The option to slow down.
👉🏻The option to spend more time together.

👉🏻The option to step back from a traditional 9-5 and design life on our terms.
