🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from Light Haus Living! 🧡

As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, I'm reminded that a home isn't defined by the things we fill it with, but by the memories we create, the laughter we share, and the people who make it special. 🏡✨

This season, I'm especially grateful for the wonderful clients who have welcomed me into their homes and trusted me to be part of their journey toward a lighter, more peaceful space.

May your Thanksgiving be filled with warmth, gratitude, connection, and a little less clutter. 😉

Because the most meaningful things in life aren't things at all. 🤎

With gratitude,
Tammy Lee

🚨 A Hidden Piece of History… or a Hidden Danger? 💣

While decluttering attics, basements, garages, or inherited family belongings, you never know what pieces of history you might uncover!

Military memorabilia from WWI and WWII can hold incredible historical significance. However, items such as old grenades, artillery shells, am******on, and unexploded bombs can still pose serious risks, even more than 80–100 years later!

⚠️ If you discover suspected military explosives:

🛑 STOP! Do not touch, move, shake, clean, or attempt to open the item.

🚫 Never assume an old, rusty, or seemingly empty explosive is harmless.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Keep children, pets, and others away from the area.

📞 Leave the immediate area and contact police from a safe location. Call 911 if there is an immediate danger.

💡 Remember: Age does not make explosives safe. Some historical mu*****ns can remain dangerous for generations.

At Light Haus Living, we believe in preserving meaningful memories while prioritizing the safety of our clients, their families, and everyone involved in the decluttering process.

🏡 When in doubt, leave it alone and call the professionals.

Have you ever discovered an unexpected piece of history while sorting through family belongings? Share your story below! 👇

✨ A little business, a lot of heart, and a whole lot of purpose. 🏡💡

Behind Light Haus Living is a woman who believes that a home should be a place of peace, not overwhelm.

What started as a lifelong passion for helping others has grown into a business built on compassion, connection, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own space.

Standing here beside my business banner is a little reminder of how far I've come and how much more I hope to accomplish. ❤️

As a small business owner, mom of two, and someone who understands that life can get messy, I know firsthand that creating a lighter home isn't about perfection. It's about making room for what truly matters.

I'm grateful for every client who has welcomed me into their home, shared their story, and trusted me to be part of their journey.

One home, one space, one step at a time. 🏡

Turns out, even professional organizers get knocked off their feet. 🤧

This week, my body had other plans.

As a business owner, mom, volunteer, chauffeur, organizer and keeper-of-all-the-things, it can be incredibly easy to keep pushing because there is always something else that could be done.

Until your body says: Nope. We’re done.

And it reminded me of something I tell my clients all the time:

Your home reflects your current capacity — not your worth.

When you're sick, overwhelmed, grieving, burnt out or simply navigating a really full season of life, things are going to pile up.

The laundry can wait.
The perfectly organized kitchen can wait.
The emails can wait.
The clutter can wait.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is give yourself permission to recover.

So if your house is looking a little more lived-in than you'd like right now, consider this your reminder from a professional organizer whose own house isn't getting much organizing done this week:

You don't have to earn your rest. 🤍

The clutter will still be there when you have the capacity to tackle it again.

Light Haus Living officially began in 2025, but its roots reach back to childhood, when I helped others declutter without pay. For the past 20 years, I’ve continued helping people part time, a lifelong passion that grew into my business.

The name brings together two deeply personal parts of my story. My dad and I shared a love of lighthouses, and he was my beacon, guiding me through life. He now remains a light in my heart, inspiring me to offer that same steady guidance to others.

“Haus,” the German word for house, connects to my married surname, Hauser. Taking my husband’s name meant more than a name change: I had found home in him.

Together, Light Haus Living™ represents guidance, belonging, and the comfort of home. Through compassionate decluttering and organizing, I help others create space for what matters most.

Guiding you out of clutter and into clarity.™

The face behind Light Haus Living, and the voice cheering from the sidelines! 🏒🥋💛

Hi, I’m Tam! Business owner, busy mom of two, and a proud part of the Waterloo community.

When I’m not helping clients declutter and organize their homes, or tackling my own, you’ll often find me cheering on my son with the Waterloo Wolves or watching both kiddos at Asahi Judo Club.

I’m also involved in my son’s school parent council and our neighbourhood community association, volunteering my time and lending a hand where I can.

Life around here is full: sports bags, school papers, family schedules, and all! I understand how quickly things pile up when you’re busy living.

That’s part of the heart behind Light Haus Living: helping you create a home that’s easier to manage, so there’s more room for the people and moments you love. ✨

What keeps your household hopping? Tell me below! 👇

“Keep it. You might need it someday.”

For many of our parents and grandparents, those words came from experience. Money was tight. Things were harder to replace. Saving what they had helped them feel secure. 💛

We can honour that resourcefulness while asking:
“Does this habit still serve my life today?”

The spare cords. The empty containers. The extras behind the extras.

Your home doesn’t have to be a storage unit for every possible future need.

For an ordinary “just in case” item, try this:

✨ Could I replace it for less than $20, within about 20 minutes?

✨ Would that cost comfortably fit my budget?

✨ Have I actually needed it, or am I afraid I might?

If replacement is easy and affordable for you, that may be permission to let it go. You can also borrow or share if the need ever arises.

Keep what supports your life, including sensible emergency supplies. Let useful extras find someone who needs them now.

You’re allowed to inherit the wisdom without keeping every item.

Let your home breathe. 🌿

What “just in case” item has been taking up space in your home?

10/05/2026

You’re allowed to turn the page, even if you bought all the supplies for the last chapter. 💛

The hobby you once loved.
The clothes from a different season of life.
The equipment for the person you imagined becoming.

Sometimes we hold onto things because letting go feels like admitting we’ve changed—or that a plan didn’t happen.

Your “fantasy self” might bake every weekend, scrapbook every memory, or finally finish those twelve projects. Keeping their supplies can start to feel like a cupboard full of homework.

You’re allowed to change your interests.
You’re allowed to decide a dream no longer fits.
You’re allowed to appreciate a past chapter without storing every piece of it.

Ask yourself:
“Would I choose this for my life today, or am I keeping it because I feel I should?”

Keep the possibilities that still excite you. Give yourself permission to release the ones that weigh on you.

Your home can make room for who you are today. 🌿

What’s one “someday” item you’re ready to reconsider?

“If everything is special, nothing is special.” ✨

A bold thought when you’re staring at a house full of memories.

So many belongings can hold meaning. But when every item gets equal space and priority, your favourites can disappear into the clutter.

That cherished photo? Buried.
Grandma’s keepsake? Tucked behind things you barely notice.
Your child’s favourite drawing? Lost in a mountain of paper.

Give the things you treasure room to be seen, used and enjoyed. You can honour a chapter of your life without keeping every object from it. 💛

Start small: choose one meaningful item and give it a place to shine.

What’s one thing in your home you’d love to bring out of hiding?
