I’m sharing this because skin lifting after waxing is something that has become more common, and I want to help educate clients on why it can happen and how it can be prevented.

Skin grazing/lifting is when the top layer of skin is accidentally lifted during a wax, leaving the area red, sensitive, or raw.

it can happen for several reasons, including:

• Using retinoids (Retin-A, tretinoin, adapalene) or Accutane.

• Recent use of exfoliating products such as AHAs, BHAs, or scrubs.

• Sunburned or recently tanned skin.

• Naturally thin, dry, or sensitive skin.

• Recent chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion.

• Certain medications or medical conditions that make the skin more fragile.

• Waxing the same area multiple times during one appointment.

Your skin is unique and every detail matters. Taking a few extra moments to complete your form helps me make the best decisions for your skin, customize your service, and prioritize your safety and results. It is very important to let your service provider know what skincare products are being used 🤍

When your “2–3 week fill” quietly turns into a 6-week reunion... we basically have our first appointment all over again. 😂🤍

Life happens—I totally get it! Work gets busy, vacations pop up, and sometimes other priorities come first. 🤍

Can we take a moment of appreciation for the retention?! and the SPEED?! Whew💨 👀

But just a little reminder that every fill appointment is different.

Not every fill will take JUST an hour. ⏰ The time really depends on:

✨ How many extensions you still have.
✨ Your natural lash health.
✨ How much they’ve grown out.
✨ The overall condition of your lashes when you arrive.

The more retention you have, the quicker (and often fuller!) your fill can be. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that your appointment will need extra time.. or even be considered a full set.

Your lashes tell the story... I’m just here to read it. 😉💋

Retention varies for everyone depending on your natural lash cycle, aftercare, lifestyle, and more 🤍

Some clients still have lots left at 3 weeks, while others need a fill sooner!

Booking every 2–3 weeks helps keep your lashes full, fresh, and consistent ✨

Waiting too long may require a full set instead 👀
