After enough disappointing dates, relationships that didn’t work out and people who turned out to be very ..very different from who we hoped they’d be… I understand why people start assuming all the “good ones are taken.”

I mean, at some point being hopeful can start to feel a well…little naive.

So we become more cautious while still quietly hoping to meet someone kind, consistent, attractive, emotionally available and reasonably has their sh*t together.

You know, nothing outrageous. 😂

Apparently we’ve also reached the age where someone who makes an actual plan, communicates clearly and does what they said they were going to do can be… weirdly hot AF.

But here’s the relief I think we all need👇

Those people haven’t disappeared.

They’re living lives that look a lot like yours: working, raising kids, looking after parents, walking the dog, grocery shopping, hanging with the same friends and wondering where the HECK they’re supposed to meet someone too.

Two people can live ten minutes apart, want the same kind of relationship, be exactly the kind of people the other has been convinced no longer exists… and never meet. 🤯🤯🤯

That’s the part I want to change.

💜 Date on Purpose isn’t asking you to suddenly become wildly optimistic about dating again or believe your soulmate is waiting beside the bar holding your preferred beverage, an excellent credit score and killer smile. 😂

You just have to be open to the possibility that maybe the story you’ve started believing isn’t the whole story.

For one evening, everyone is single, everyone chose to be there, and everyone is open to meeting someone.

You get to have a drink, meet some people and see what happens when you actually show up in the same room… on purpose.

No fantasy. No guarantees. Just a real opportunity to date differently.

Let’s face it.
We all want to meet someone naturally, right?!

Meanwhile… we’re all out here creating approximately zero opportunities to actually meet anyone new.

We go to work. Gym. Home. Dinner and drinks with the same group of friends. Maybe a cousin’s wedding where everyone’s already coupled up with a kid or two.

At some point, you have to interrupt the routine.

❤️‍🔥Go somewhere new.
❤️‍🔥Talk to people you wouldn’t normally meet.
❤️‍🔥 Put yourself in a room where everyone is single, open, and actually there to connect.

That’s exactly what Date on Purpose is here to create.

This isn’t a promise you’ll meet your person in one night …although I wouldn’t stop you. 😘

Just a room full of good conversation, a legitimate reason to put your phone down, and a new exciting space for your love life to go. 💜

☀️Don’t worry, this isn’t speed dating.
☀️You’ll have meaningful prompts on the tables you want to ask potential partners or aligned friendships.
☀️You’ll be sitting with a group with plenty of time to talk.
☀️And still have time to find your way back to whoever sparked your interest.

If you want something different, you have to give something different a chance.

What if the hardest part of modern dating isn’t finding someone…

What if it’s how quickly we’ve learned to decide who people are?

You notice someone across the room.
Within seconds your brain gets to work.

“I don’t want to bother them.”

“They’re way out of my league.”

“They’re probably in a relationship.”

“They aren’t my type.”

Sound familiar?

The funny thing is… maybe you’re right.
….Or maybe you’re completely wrong.

You’ll never know.
Because the conversation NEVER happened.

But what if there is a place….

Where a conversation had a chance to start before you have a chance to overthink it a billion times?

Where you catch yourself laughing with someone you’ve only known for ten minutes.

Where you leave with a few new numbers in your phone that don’t start with “Hinge Matt” or “Tinder Michelle”.

A place where you realize there are actually some pretty incredible people in this city... you just weren’t crossing paths with.

That’s Date on Purpose.

Not speed dating.
Not networking with a romantic filter.

Just a room full of genuinely single people who showed up for the same reasons you did… to see what happens when you ditch the apps and intentionally give real conversations with real humans a chance to exist.

We go to the same coffee shops. The same grocery stores. We see the same people.

And somehow an entire week can go by without having one conversation with someone new.

I think we’ve replaced conversations with content.

We know what people ate for brunch.
Where they went on vacation.
What concert they went to.
What they looked like six years ago ata halloween party on Facebook. 😅

But we don’t actually know them.

We’ve become really good at judging, comparing, and consuming each other’s lives… while forgetting to actually live our own.

Maybe that’s why so many of us feel so disconnected.

We’re surrounded by people every day, yet how often do we actually get curious about them?

Lately, I’ve been challenging myself to say YES to more.

💯 Join the group.
💯 Start the conversation.
💯 Ask the question.
💯 Leave the house.

The goal is to let life surprise me.

Maybe it’s a conversation that changes my perspective.

Maybe it’s someone who inspires me.

Maybe it’s a new walking buddy.

Maybe it’s hearing a story I’ll still be thinking about a week later.

None of that happens while we’re scrolling.

So here’s my challenge… for me and for you.

‼️ Start one conversation with someone you don’t already know this week.

Not because you need something from them.

Just because they’re another human being.

👇 And if you know of a great group, class, club, or community in Windsor, leave it in the comments. I have a feeling a lot of us are looking for places to put our phones down and meet more humans.

P.S. If you’re single, this is exactly why I created Date On Purpose Co. Our two August Summer Socials aren’t about awkward icebreakers or endless swiping.

❤️‍🔥 They’re about giving yourself the chance to sit across from someone new and let life surprise you.

👉✨DATE ON PURPOSE | SUMMER SOCIAL☀️
💥NEW AGE GROUP!! 25-35 🎉🥳

Is it just me or have we forgotten the human being behind the profile? 🤷‍♀️

Somewhere along the way, dating became about trying to figure people out before we’d actually met them.

We scroll through photos, read a few prompts, maybe do a little Instagram investigation (don’t worry... we’ve all done it 😂), and within a few minutes we’ve convinced ourselves we know who someone is.

But do we?

The best parts of another human being have never lived on a profile.

They’re found in the way they snort when they laugh at their own jokes, the silly stories they tell, the interesting questions they ask, and those unexpected moments where you catch yourself thinking, “OHhhh I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this conversation so much.”

That’s exactly why I created Date on Purpose.

Not because dating apps are evil, but because I wanted to create a space where people get the chance to experience something different.

A place where you actually get to know someone before you decide who they are….because filtered photos and a bio filed with emojis explains nothing. 🙈

I give you a room full of intentional singles who all signed up and showed up for the same reason.

Don’t worry I got you. There will be thoughtful conversation prompts to help you skip the awkward small talk and get to the things that actually matter.

A relaxed atmosphere where curiosity matters more than having the perfect opening line.

Because I can’t help but wonder...

How many incredible people have we overlooked because we judged the profile before we met the person?

Maybe it’s time we changed that.

“Nobody visits their neighbours anymore.”

Ooof. that one got me.

And the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me.

Not because I was surprised to hear it. I wasn’t.
Because it felt like truth.

It didn’t happen all at once.
Just little by little.

Life got busier.
Phones got smarter.
Everything got faster, easier, more convenient.

And somehow a lot of us ended up feeling more disconnected than ever.

Then we look around and wonder why making friends feels harder.
Why dating feels so exhausting.
Why so many people feel lonely, even when they’re surrounded by a bunch of people.

Sometimes I wonder if we’re all feeling the same thing, but calling it different names.

👉Loneliness.
👉Dating burnout.
👉Disconnection.

That feeling that something is missing, even when we’ve got a pretty great life.

Maybe underneath all of it, we’re not missing a relationship…maybe we’re just missing each other.

that’s part of why Date on Purpose exists. 💜

Not just to help people meet someone.

But to create more spaces where people can gather, have real conversations, and remember what it feels like to connect with another human being.

What do you think we’ve lost that nobody is talking about?

✨ Date on Purpose events returning soon.

Let’s face it 👇

Dating has gotten….extremely complicated.

At this stage…most of your friends are coupled off.
They have busy schedules. They have kids with busy schedules. Maybe even have grand kids. Nobody’s setting you up anymore. It just doesn’t happen.

And the apps? In a city this size, you’re swiping past people you went to high school with. Your ex’s friends. Someone you matched with in 2019 and definitely don’t need to revisit. The pool feels smaller and smaller every time you open that thing.

And the ones you don’t recognize? Half of them are checked out before the conversation even starts. One foot in, one foot out. No one’s really risking anything.

Because at this point, we’ve all been through some s**t and opening up to a stranger from the internet feels like a lot to ask.

So you stay on the apps. Swiping away. Wishing it was different. Going through the motions. Telling yourself this has got to get better… but the cycle continues.

So, where the heck are you supposed to meet someone new!?

Enter…

Date on Purpose is a curated and intentional space, full of real single people ready to find something real.

No profiles. No catfish. No thirst traps. No one showing up looking like a completely different person. Just you, as exactly who you are …meeting real humans who are showing up for the exact same reason: connection 💜

Spots are limited and these events are filling up fast.

💥 April 23rd (30–45) and May 8th (45–60) — limited tickets remaining.

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll do something different — this is the something different.

It’s not trying too hard, memorizing a bunch of tips you heard online, or saying the perfect thing.

And it’s definitely not about putting on some filtered, watered-down version of yourself.

The kind of effort I’m talking about?

It’s vulnerability.

…just not in the way people usually think.

Not the emotional, spill-your-life-story kind.

The kind where you actually show up.

Where you’re in the conversation.
You ask something because you’re genuinely curious, you listen to the answer, and you say what you think instead of what you think sounds good.
You stay in it a little longer, even when it’s not perfect yet.

Because that’s what most people avoid.

Not knowing the outcome.
Feeling a bit awkward.
Risking rejection.

So instead, we keep things surface-level, play it safe, hold back… and decide quickly so we don’t have to risk anything.

And then we say, “there was no chemistry.”

But nothing really had a chance to happen.

What I’ve seen at Date on Purpose is different.

People take that small step.
They lean in a bit more, stay a little longer, and actually meet each other.

And that’s when things start to get REAL interesting.

👉 If that’s the kind of energy you value and are done wasting your time - this is your sign.

There’s a point where it’s not about knowing what you want anymore.

Because, let's face it - you already do. But the way you've been doing it... isn't.

It’s about whether you’re actually putting yourself in situations where something has the chance to happen.

and the truth is... most people aren’t.

Not because they don’t care. They really do.
But because the endless options, the people they've been meeting - don’t feel worth the time, the energy, or the risk.

So they jam pack their life instead.

Work, routines, kids routines, the same places, the same people… and their dating plans become something "you'll get to when you have time”

This is one of the few spaces where that changes.

Not because it’s perfect.
But because it’s intentional.

This is dating differently.

You’re headed out on a date with someone you’re definitely attracted to.

So in theory… this should be easy. The conversation should flow. It should feel natural. Right?

But a few minutes in, you can already feel it. You’re both talking… but not really clicking.

You’re listening, but you’re also in your head thinking about what to say next, wondering if they're ok with someone having kids, replaying how they just answered that question, trying to figure out if this is even getting to a second date.
..and you know what? they’re probably doing the exact same thing.

It’s exhausting.

So instead of actually being in the conversation, you’re both trying to figure it out while it’s actively happening.

You’re not even mentally in the same room.

It starts to feel a little off.
A little forced.
Not what you expected.

So you call it.

“Well… there wasn’t a spark. No chemistry.”

But most of the time, that’s not what that is. It’s two people who never actually got out of their heads long enough for anything REAL to build.

We're all trying to decide too quickly…so nothing really has a chance.

Date on Purpose is different.

People aren’t rushing to leave.
They’re not checking the time every few minutes.

If anything, they’re looking for a way to stay a little longer, to finish a conversation, or go back to one that actually had something there.

Not because every conversation is perfect…but because they’re actually IN IT.

They’re present.
They’re curious.
They’re paying attention long enough to experience the person in front of them.

And that’s when chemistry has a chance to show up.

Surprise! That's when dating actually starts to feel different.

👉 If you’re ready to experience dating differently, get in the room for the 45–60 event on May 7 because this is built for better dates.

Limited men’s spots available. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1984927622953?aff=oddtdtcreator
