Let’s face it 👇

They have busy schedules. They have kids with busy schedules. Maybe even have grand kids. Nobody’s setting you up anymore. It just doesn’t happen.

It’s not trying too hard, memorizing a bunch of tips you heard online, or saying the perfect thing.

And it’s definitely not about putting on some filtered, watered-down version of yourself.

The kind of effort I’m talking about?

It’s vulnerability.

…just not in the way people usually think.

Not the emotional, spill-your-life-story kind.

You clock in, swipe until your thumb goes numb, spend 30 minutes crafting the perfect opener, wait, only to get ghosted, then start all over again again.

Maybe you get a date. Maybe the date is just “OK”. Maybe “OK” is the best word you can find for it. Yet, you drive home wondering why “OK” feels so disappointing when you used to want so much more than that.

And then you do the thing. The thing we all do.

I didn’t create Date on Purpose because the world needs another dating event...

I created it because over the years, I got tired of watching good people lose faith in themselves and humanity. I know, because it happened to me.

Friends. Family. Kind. Thoughtful. Interesting people. Good partners.
Are slowly shrinking inside dating text threads.
Overthinking every message.
Waiting on people who say “we should totally hang out” that never actually hang out.
And then blaming themselves for it.

The good news? The problem isn’t you.
It’s the environment we're trying to date inside.
We’ve gotten used to vague effort, half assed presence, and keeping people at arm’s length and we call that behaviour “normal.” ...but really it’s just safer.
I think we’re all craving something braver than “safe.” I know, I'm not the only one .

I wanted to create a room where that stops.
