Ever watched Shark Tank or Dragons’ Den and thought, “That looks exciting… but that’s not my world”?

Turns out, it can be.
I joined a group of 28 diverse women here in Manitoba—from legal, business, ag tech, finance, healthcare, and investing backgrounds—who pool our skills, ask the tough questions, and make decisions together.

It’s collective investing meets experiential learning. We explore kick-starter opportunities, challenge assumptions, and back ideas that could make a real difference—while building our own confidence as investors.

It’s not about being the smartest person in the room.

It’s about being in the right room—with ‘Angels’ who pool money with both their heads and their hearts… or as I like to say, put your mouth where your heart is.

Lord, help us find our place. 𝑰𝒌𝒂𝒘 𝒏𝒂 𝒑𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏.

In 2021, during the pandemic and so much uncertainty, we whispered this prayer quietly as a family—arriving in Winnipeg with masks on.

We didn’t know how things would unfold.

We just kept taking one step at a time—with our family and a supportive community behind us.

From arriving in April 2021 as an international student/ open work permit,
to receiving our PR in May 2022—
every part of this journey was made up of small, intentional decisions,
silent sacrifices,
and everyday whispers to heaven.

It may seem like a short path on paper…

But behind the scenes were late-night worries,
Choosing positivity
And showing up every day—for our children, and for the future we dreamed of.

And as we officially become Canadian citizens —
We get to sing O Canada with hearts full.

Thank you to everyone who walked with us on this journey. 🇨🇦

EnviroMom FamTravel Series Yolo # 3 This trip to Mexico City 🇲🇽? All thanks to a Master’s classmate’s idea. Cho, if you’re reading this—gracias. 🙌

We visited in spring 2025, when the weather danced between 16–25°C. Just right for wandering on foot, soaking in the vibrant streets of Condesa and wondering where the negative bad press on Mexico City’s security came from.

What we found was warmth, kindness, and a bold, buzzing city full of soul. It’s loud, it’s alive, it’s green in ways I didn’t expect.

With Cho’s local tips and the help of kind local advisors , we saw the city through the eyes of those who live it.

Tacos overload, tostadas in La Coyoacán, and Spanish practice that made me feel like a mini Dora the Explorer.

Even tried my hand at haggling in the markets (with mixed results and lots of smiles).

We came cautious. We left connected. And we’ll definitely be back. 💛

⭐️Neurodiversity Celebration Week⭐️
At the request of a parent community in Abu Dhabi, I recently shared insights in my YouTube talk on turning Antawn’s developmental delays to superpowers.

As a parent, I know the journey can be overwhelming and frustrating, but I’ve also experienced how the right support, patience, and small adjustments can help our kids thrive.

This Neurodiversity Celebration Week, I reflect on my experience with Antawn—his struggles, his growth, and the beauty of seeing the world through his unique perspective:

Neurodiversity isn’t about “fixing” differences—it’s about recognizing strengths.

With small changes in our behavior, we can build a world where every mind is valued and supported.

Embracing the Fall: Took my 9-year-old niece skiing for the first time.

No instructor, showed her just the basics: putting on heavy ski boots, “pizza” legs to brake, and a zigzag “S” shaped form downhill slope.

Within minutes, she tackled the downhill like it was second nature, standing up every time she fell.
No sign of fear nor a bit of hesitation.

Me? I lost count of how many times I fell because I paralyze with fear …everytime.

At -10°C with snow in the air, I stood there in awe.

Kids don’t overthink—they just do.

And maybe that’s the real secret to learning anything new.

How many times will you fall before you stop thinking and start doing?

🌟 EnviroMom FamTravel: Next Stop -Connecticut 🌟

Some trips aren’t just about places—they’re about the stories they tell. This time, we stepped into the heart of Connecticut, guided by Maddie cherished itinerary.

First stop: Yale University. Walking its peaceful paths, Ada couldn’t help but dream of a future as a lawyer—her dreams as grand as the towering halls around us 🌳.

Then, we headed to Maddie’s family favorite resro, The China Pavilion. Though the dining room was closed, we imagined how her family’s laughter once filled those spaces. The takeaway? Chicken Three Style and a feast that seemed to last forever 🍛. It wasn’t just food—it was a memory we were tasting.

Finally, Walnut Beach Creamery in Milford. While winter keeps its doors closed, we could almost picture it: waves crashing, kids laughing, first dates unfolding, and the perfect scoop of sunset ice cream 🍦. It’s a slice of magic, even from afar.

Connecticut, isn’t just a destination—it’s a place where connections are made and stories unfold. Onward to the next adventure!

When I turned 38 during the pandemic, my classmates from my Master’s Program in Madrid 🇪🇸 gave me a gift unlike any other—a family travel guide, filled with their favorite places and personal memories from around the world.

It was more than a guide; it was a piece of their lives, their stories, and their cultures.

Boston was the first stop on this journey, guided by Andrew’s thoughtful itinerary.

As we stood on the Freedom Trail, tracing the steps of Paul Revere and Elizabeth Freeman, history came alive for my kids in ways no textbook ever could. 🇺🇸

Then, in a moment of pure serendipity, we stumbled into the Harry Potter exhibition—the only one in North America. My daughter, a die-hard Potterhead, lit up as she held a wand for the first time. I’ll never forget the look on her face—it was as if magic had truly found her. 🪄

We rode the Red Line from Andrew Street, marveling at the coincidence of being on a street that shared the name of the classmate who created this guide. We whispered a quiet “thank you” as we explored each stop he lovingly included. 🚇

At the Holocaust Memorial, we stood silently as mist rose around us, each droplet representing a story lost to time. My heart ached, but I knew this moment would leave an indelible mark on my children, teaching them empathy and the importance of remembering. 💔

And then there were the little things—the joy of ordering ‘Lobstah rolls’ and ‘Chowdah’ like true Bostonians, the playful jaywalking habit we picked up, and the chill of a +4°C day that made every bite of warm clam chowder even more comforting. 🍴❄️

Through Hanover Street’s chaos (Little Italy of Boston), we reached Mike’s Pastry for the best Lobster Tail—sweet, creamy, and worth every bite. 🦞🍰

This trip wasn’t just about visiting a city; it was about living the stories gifted to us by friends.

Thank you, Andrew Moorman, for making Boston unforgettable.

This journey is just the beginning, and we’ll carry your stories with us wherever we go. ✨
