💔🇨🇦 "We need a miracle." A desperate search continues in Manitoba after two young brothers, Aaron Au Ramirez (13) and Maximo Au Ramirez (10), are feared to have drowned after being swept into the powerful rapids at Nutimik Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park. 😢🌊
According to RCMP, the younger brother slipped from the rocks into the fast-moving water, and the older brother immediately jumped in to try to save him. Tragically, both were pulled into the current and disappeared beneath the water. Search crews, including the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, HEART divers, drones, helicopters, and dozens of local volunteers with boats, have been searching tirelessly for days despite strong winds, deep water, rocks, and poor sonar conditions. Only some clothing believed to belong to one of the boys has been found so far. 🙏🚤
The boys had travelled from Winnipeg with their father and friends for a fishing trip, while their mother stayed home with their four-year-old child. The local community has rallied around the devastated family, providing accommodation, meals, emotional support, and launching a fundraiser to help them through this heartbreaking tragedy. Residents say the rapids have claimed several lives in recent years and are calling for stronger safety barriers to prevent more families from experiencing such unimaginable loss. 🕊️❤️
