While this is a tip that can apply to anyone, I know that my ADHD'ers and their brains can usually appreciate a different point of view when it comes to their organizing strategy.

This month, I'm challenging you to look at your "drop zones."

Find ONE pile that keeps coming back and ask yourself:
“What system could I put right here?”

Hooks? A blanket ladder? A laundry basket? A catch-all basket?

Sometimes the pile isn’t the problem.
Sometimes, the system is. 💗

Here are TWO super simple things you can do in your home to make this back-to-school season smoother.

Only two... there's no need to overwhelm ourselves.

Creating a family "launch pad" in your mudroom, kitchen, or wherever it best suits you is a great way to ensure all the kids' stuff has a PLACE.

Forms? Got 'em. Backpack? Hung up here.
Lunch kits? Ready to go. Water bottles? Yes, keep them here too AND the spares.

However, life happens and things get moved to let's give ourselves FIVE MINUTES each evening to make sure everything is in its place and ready for the next day.

Now, we're not running around in the morning trying to find that other shoe while simultaneously packing lunch.

The proper home for your items + a quick 5 minutes each day to make sure everything is ready, makes for a better morning 🙂‍↕️

Basic humans needs for the average ADHD client 😉
Of course, we're a little biased!

We talk about it a lot but a decluttering project can start with a dopamine high, but after you've been at it for a few hours, or even a few minutes, the overwhelm kicks in!

We get it. We're here to help.
And to make sure you're drinking enough water and taking deeeeeeep calming breaths.

We talk about body doubling a lot in this business, but here's a little reminder for you and some information on what it really means.

Tried to get organized a hundred times and it never stuck? Did you start that closet clean out and freeze? That's not a you problem.

ADHD isn't a lack of effort. It's a self regulation and working memory thing, and that shows up hard when you're trying to declutter or build systems solo. Every "where does this go" decision takes energy you don't have unlimited amounts of, and starting a task without someone else in the room is its own uphill battle.

That's why hiring help with organizing often works when going it alone hasn't. It's not about outsourcing willpower, but it's about borrowed structure, fewer decisions to make on your own, and a real person keeping momentum going with you.
