As we continue preparing students for the upcoming intakes, I wanted to spotlight one program category that is currently gaining strong attention across Canada: **Early Childhood Education (ECE)** 🍁👶🏽
With the growing demand for childcare professionals across several provinces, ECE continues to stand out as a strong pathway for students looking at:
✨ Employability
✨ PGWP opportunities
✨ Long-term settlement prospects in Canada
Some schools currently available on the Passage portal offering ECE include:
📌 Sheridan College *(Loan Available)*
📌 Assiniboine College *(Loan Available)*
📌 Niagara College *(Loan Available)*
📌 St. Lawrence *(Loan Available)*
📌 Bow Valley College *(Loan Available)*
📌 George Brown College *(Loan Available)*
📌 Humber College
📌 Canadore College
📌 Vancouver Community College
📌 NorQuest College
📌 Saskatchewan Polytechnic
📌Durham College
📌 CNA
📌 Other partner schools on the portal
⚠️ Important Note on Sheridan College:
Sheridan has both:
🔹 A 2-year ECE program
🔹 A 1-year Intensive option (PECEI)
The 1-year option is strictly for students with:
✔️ Prior ECE-related work experience
✔️ Verifiable employment references
✔️ WES/credential evaluation required
For many students, these requirements can be challenging, so it may be safer to focus on:
👉 The 2-year Sheridan option, or
👉 Other schools offering ECE with simpler eligibility pathways.
💡 This is a great time to:
✅ Review your current pipeline
✅ Revisit students previously worried about funding
✅ Submit fresh September applications
✅ Position students toward loan-eligible pathways where applicable
September intake is drawing closer, and early submission/processing will be very important for smoother timelines ⏳
