We left early. Winnipeg had other plans.

Around here, “just a quick trip” is more of a hopeful suggestion than a reliable estimate.

At least there’s time for a conversation. And possibly a discussion about why we didn’t bring snacks.

We can spend an entire evening getting things done and barely have a conversation.

Then a sky like this reminds us to stop for a minute.

We’re building our business because we want more time to enjoy the life we’re creating together. But we don’t want to forget to enjoy the life we have along the way.

Naturally, we had to get all cleaned up for the occasion.

Corey always looks great. I tried my best. 😂

Meanwhile, the recovery crew has apparently decided they're moving in for the long haul. They've claimed the bed, made themselves comfortable, and show absolutely no signs of leaving.

But seriously, 500 followers!!

Day 3 after surgery...

Cleaned up, feeling better, and the view is not changing anytime soon.

Corey is taking great care of me. Boba would like some of the credit of course, and the cats are just observing as usual.

Thank you for all the check-ins. They mean a lot. I'm really grateful we get to be home for this, together, on our own schedule.

Ask us sometime how we made that happen.

Thankful for the little things. And the not-so-little things.

A roof over our heads. Food on the table. Family to share it with. Friends who feel like family. And a dog who firmly believes every meal should include him.

This year has brought its share of unexpected turns, challenges, laughter, and lessons. Not everything has gone according to plan, but there’s still so much to be grateful for.

We’re thankful for the people who’ve stood beside us, the new friendships we’ve made, and the opportunities we never saw coming. And to everyone who’s become part of our little corner of the world, thank you.
