“Violence is not tradition. Silence is not protection.”
As we mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we stand in deep sorrow and righteous anger over the pain and injustice inflicted on women and children across the world.
From the brutal abductions of schoolgirls and killings of Christians in Nigeria, to the murders of young mothers in Eastern DRC, the silent suffering of women in Sudan and Palestine, and the unrelenting violent crimes in South Africa ; these are not isolated incidents. They are a reflection of broken systems, normalized violence, and global silence.
We must reject the idea that violence is a cultural norm.
We must stop treating silence as a form of safety.
At Vuka PR & Communications, we believe in the power of voices, storytelling, and truth. Now, more than ever, we must use our platforms to confront injustice, challenge harmful norms, and amplify the call for protection, dignity, and equality.
To every survivor: your pain is not invisible. We see you.
To every leader: your silence is complicity. Act now.
