10 years of growing ideas with farmers 💡🌱

Ten years ago, ennos was born in Switzerland on a simple conviction: that the sun could do more than shine — it could feed families.

Since then, that conviction has taken us far from our offices — into the fields of Kenya, across the lands of Madagascar, alongside thousands of farmers who turn sunlight into harvests every single day.

A decade later, what we're proudest of isn't our solar pumps. It's the stories: a farm that doubled its irrigated land, a family who no longer has to choose between fuel and dinner, a village where water finally isn't scarce anymore. 10 years. Thousands of fields. One mission: cultivating independence, one pump at a time.

Powering growth, drop by drop 💧☀️

In Zambia, this farmer is now irrigating with a solar pump from ennos ag — no diesel, no grid, just sunshine turned into water for the crops.

This new 1.5 HP sunlight pump, fresh out of the box, combines ease of installation with excellent performance: since all the accessories are included, the farmer simply needs to connect the hoses and cables, then select the appropriate speed mode (automatic, semi-automatic, manual) to meet his irrigation needs.

After securing the suction hose in the surface water source, and making sure the solar panels aren’t in the shade, he can focus on his crops: When combined with a drip irrigation system, every drop is delivered exactly where it’s needed—less waste, higher yields, and a farm powered by clean energy.

This is what climate-smart agriculture looks like in practice. 🌱

The sunlight pumps are not only highly durable solar pumps, they also offer excellent performance in challenging terrain! ↗️⛰️

With a maximum Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of 60 m, the 0.5 and 1.5 HP models are capable of raising water up steep slopes and transporting it to any part of the farm.

This is particularly relevant for mountainous countries, such as here in Guatemala, where smallholder farmers have access to surface water sources in the lower part of their farm (pond, spring, stream) and must irrigate their crops in the upper part. 🌱

This high pressure can also be used to power automatic sprinklers or drip irrigation systems, while removing particles from the water through filters. 💦
