Unfortunately this is not the only one, even supposed experienced people do and continue at the moment to do the same crap. Just this week we refused to support 4 differents journalists in Syria, 5 in Iraq, two in Ukraine and 2 in RCA for these same mistakes. We could provide a list of journalists who would be at least three pages, which include even experienced people. For example, a few months ago we found an armed group in Syria with a list containing names of journalists with their arrival dates and names of the fixers. Question, how this group could have this list? (Of course all the people on this list have been advised by us). Whenever it's possible, we send emails to the persons concerned or the current development in conflict zones.
From our perspective, we have difficulties to understand these rookie mistakes. I think it is time that this world must seriously questioning itself, to get over divisions and arrogance and ignored competition. You are supposedly to be a big family but concretely disunited. It might be time for you to federated correctly, that the organization as RSF or agencies and/or media big reputations should create a center with all the big heads in this profession to think and find solutions to these problems. For example, do not take beginners on war zones or every journalist should have adequate training for hostile land. We do not claim to be a preachy nor have innate knowledge, but we note here the last 3 years have cost the lives to too many journalists, mainly due to some bu****it.
