❓ What are the first steps in getting your book published?
❓ Is there a structure a non-fiction book needs to follow?
❓ How to negotiate with proofreaders and other suppliers?
❓ Should I even write a book?

These were some of the questions approached in our workshop, “From Expert to Author”, last week. Pauliina Rasi walked the participants through the squiggly path to publish their first book.
And yes, we also dipped into the second book a little bit 😉

As always, the participants asked wonderful questions and supported each other by sharing tips and peer support. All the good stuff that makes in-person workshops so valuable!

Who said it was going to be easy?

(Exactly 👀)

Last year, Mandy Bronsil took a step that looked simple from the outside…

But turned out to be anything but.

Not because it was the wrong move.
But because growth rarely feels straightforward when you’re in it.

What looked like “starting something new” quickly became:

→ navigating different ways of working
→ learning how to build with others
→ letting go of doing everything alone

(If you’ve seen our last post… you know what we mean.)

Because here’s the reality:

Building something meaningful, or redefining your path, is rarely linear.

It’s layered.
It’s sometimes uncomfortable.
And it often takes longer than expected.

At B-Inspired, we see this every day.

People who are doing well on paper…
but are navigating questions, shifts, and uncertainty behind the scenes.

That’s exactly why spaces like ours exist.

Not to remove the twists and turns,
but to help you move through them with more clarity,
better conversations,
and the right people around you.

We love the idea of building something 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳...

Until we actually have to do it 👀

At the end of 2025, I invited Julie de Meyer and Pauliina Rasi to co-build the B-Inspired Community with me.

Three independent women.
Three strong perspectives.
Three very different ways of working.

Four months in… here’s the honest version:

Partnership isn’t just inspiring.
It’s confronting, stretching, and very real.

A few things we’ve learned so far:

📁 The “unsexy” things carry everything
File systems. Tools. Processes.
You don’t notice them… until they’re missing.

🧭 Alignment doesn’t mean sameness
One of us wanted strong foundations.
One wanted to move fast.
One focused on communication.

None of it was wrong.
But without clarity, everything competes.

💬 Say the thing early
Not the polished version. The real one.
Most tension doesn’t come from disagreement,
but from what stays unsaid.

🤝 Letting go is a skill
When you’re used to doing everything yourself,
trust doesn’t happen automatically.

And yes… building with others is messier than doing it alone.

But it’s also more thoughtful.
More grounded.
And ultimately, more meaningful.

I can keep listing benefits that marketing dictate I should;

✔️ Yes, people get clients.

Yes, people get clients.

🔥 But the truth is, those that get the best "results", joined from a leap of faith and trusted their instinct over waiting to understand the exact value...

The value isn’t a statistic or a number and it's different for everyone. It’s not something I can calculate for anyone else.

🪂 Often, some of the best decisions come from being brave enough to experiment a little and trust your gut.

I don’t want to "convince" anyone to join our community.
If it feels right, join.
If it doesn’t, don’t.

Ask me all the questions you need to, but at the end of the day the only REAL questions are to yourself:

❓ "Do these feel like my people?"
❓ "Do I respect their way of thinking and acting enough to open up to them, and take advice from them?"

And its not just when evaluating joining us or not, it's a great question to put to all of your interactions.

🎉 Full house on for the Board Rediness workshop run by Christine L. Carey!

The workshop sold out and brought together a fantastic group for a lively morning focused on governance, leadership, and future career opportunities.

Participants explored what Boards actually do, how they operate, how compensation works, and assessed their own readiness for these roles.
Many left with:
✔️ practical tools
✔️ new perspectives
✔️ the start of a personal Board action plan

The feedback highlighted the value of the concrete insights, the welcoming atmosphere for both beginners and experienced participants, and the generous sharing between attendees 🤝

The energy in the room was focused and forward-moving, very much like a real boardroom conversation 💡

Serving on a Board can be a powerful way to broaden your perspective, contribute strategically, and grow your leadership impact 📈
👏 A big thank you to Christine Carey for such an engaging and insightful session, to Helen for the organisation and to all those who were there and made it such en energising morning!

Like any community, the B-Inspired community is in constant motion and evolution.

This month, we integrated Business Clinics into our membership packages.

Every week, there’s a 90-minute walk-in business clinic for our members to ask their business and career questions, talk through thorny issues and walk away with clarity and momentum.

It’s this simple:

1️⃣ Join us for the Tuesday co-working at the Clubhouse, in Nyon Centre, between 9:30 and 11.
2️⃣ Bring your question to the group.
3️⃣ Listen to the advice from others.
4️⃣ Pick your favourite tips and commit to your next action step.
5️⃣ Share your own expertise with others!

The good news? Every other week, the Business Clinics happen online, so you can ask your questions from anywhere.

The better news? There’s a Trial Busienss Clinic next Monday, February 23.
