A successful backup and a successful ransomware recovery are not the same thing.
Attackers don't just encrypt files. They compromise identity systems, alter configurations and create persistence mechanisms that survive restoration. A "clean" backup can still reintroduce dormant malware into your environment.
For MSPs, that risk multiplies across every client tenant simultaneously.
Testing recovery without reinfection requires isolation, realistic attack simulation, malware-aware validation and security telemetry correlated with backup timelines — not just a green checkmark on the last job.
