Why do we procrastinate — even when we want to get things done?

I’m sharing this brilliant TED Talk by Tim Urban because it explains procrastination in a simple (and funny) way — and it’s so relevant to home organization.

If you feel stuck before starting a decluttering or organizing project, you’re not alone. Procrastination often comes from overwhelm, not laziness.

It’s something many of us experience, and understanding it can help us look at our habits with more clarity.

Tim Urban knows that procrastination doesn't make sense, but he's never been able to shake his habit of waiting until the last minute to get things done. In ...

As this year comes to an end, and a new one approaches, I want to share an experience that deeply touched me.

A story of acceptance, strength, and quiet resilience.

A few months ago, I supported a 93-year-old client who had to leave the apartment where she had lived for more than 51 years.
A home where she raised her children, shared life with her husband, and built decades of memories.

The building was sold, and she had no choice but to move into a smaller space.

She asked me to help her during this transition.
What I didn’t expect was how much she would teach me.

With remarkable calm, she made decisions about what to keep and what to let go.
Not out of sadness, but with intention.

She let go of many objects, without ever letting go of what mattered most.
Because memories don’t live in things — they live within us.

And in her smaller apartment, she created a new home.
Lighter, simpler, and still truly hers.

This experience reminded me that:
• Letting go is a form of strength
• We can begin again at any age
• A home is not defined by its size, but by what we choose to carry forward

As we step into a new year, her story feels like a gentle invitation: to reflect, to release, and to move into the next chapter with grace.

I am grateful to have accompanied her on this journey.
And I will carry her lesson with me — well beyond this year. ✨

Less, but better

There’s something about the end of the year that invites reflection.
We tidy our calendars, make plans, dream of new beginnings. And sometimes, we realize how much has quietly piled up around us - in our homes, and in our minds. Objects, habits, memories… all the little things we hold onto, both physically and emotionally.
Each of them asking, in their own way: Do we really need all of this?
We keep things “just in case,” because they remind us of someone, or simply because they’ve always been there. But each of those items takes up not only physical space - but also mental space.

As the year comes to a close, I want to invite you to slow down a little. To look around your home and ask yourself:

What’s truly essential for me right now?
What could I let go of to create space for what really matters?

It’s not about getting rid of everything. It’s about reconnecting with what brings comfort, joy, and purpose.

When we focus on the essential, everything feels lighter.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 = 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿!

Summer was fun, but now it’s time to bring a little calm back into our daily rhythm 😉
Whether your kids are heading back to school or you’re just craving a bit more structure at home, here are 3 simple organizing tips to make the transition easier:

📌 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝗮 "𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲" 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿
Hooks for backpacks, a bin for shoes, and a spot for keys make school mornings smoother (and less shouty 😅).

📌 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱
Outfits, bags, snacks, water bottles - all packed and ready. A little “tomorrow” basket in each bedroom can turn the evening rush into a peaceful habit.

📌 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲
Whether it’s the dining table or a small desk, keeping it clutter-free helps kids focus (and keeps papers from piling up).

A more organized home means less stress and more peace - for everyone 💛

You opened the door, reached for a summer top… and ten sweaters, a scarf, and that one heel you never wear came flying out. 😅

Yep. It’s that time again: the Summer Wardrobe Showdown.
But don’t worry - I’ve got you covered.

Here are 5 simple daily habits to help you reclaim your space, feel lighter, and maybe - even fall back in love with your closet.

✨ A new chapter in my journey as a Home Organizer

I'm proud to share that I've been accepted as a member of the Swiss Association of Professional Organizers (Swiss-APO) 🎉
Joining this professional network is more than just recognition — it's an opportunity to grow, connect, and help raise awareness around a profession that’s still gaining visibility.
For me, organizing is more than just tidying up. It’s about creating clarity and calm — making space for what truly matters, and bringing more ease into everyday life.
Today, I feel even more inspired to support those ready to make that shift.

Thank you to the association for the trust 🙏
