KOM IS NOT AGAINST ITS ARTISTS KOM IS AGAINST DISRESPECT.
Let’s be honest.
In Kom tradition, words are powerful. Music was never just entertainment it was used to teach, unite, and preserve dignity. A woman represents family honor. Our culture was built on respect and discipline.
Support is not entitlement.
No community is obligated to promote a song that openly disrespects women or glorifies immorality. When lyrics reduce women to objects or normalize vulgar expressions, people will naturally withdraw their support. That is not hate — that is standards.
Cameroon has restricted songs before when they crossed moral lines even big names like Lapiro de Mbanga and Maahlox have faced backlash or bans over controversial content.
So this is not new.
If we truly love our artists, we correct them when they go off track. That’s how culture survives.
Kom people are supportive but we will not clap for content that stains our values.
Respect brings support. Always.
