We've been quiet on here. Not because nothing was happening. The opposite, actually.
While we were heads-down building, something kept hitting us: Cameroon's tech ecosystem is being built by hundreds of people who rarely get a public "thank you."
So here it is.
To the founders pulling all-nighters in Buea, Douala, Yaoundé, Bamenda, Maroua, and everywhere in between. You chose the hard path. You chose to build where most people said it couldn't be done. We see you.
To the other hubs and innovation spaces keeping their doors open, their Wi-Fi running, and their communities together. You know the grind. Running a hub in Cameroon is not glamorous. It's generator fuel, broken AC, and still showing up on Monday morning. We respect you.
To UNDP, GIZ, EU, AUF, Expertise France, EU in Cameroon, and every development partner who bet on Cameroon when the spotlight was somewhere else. Your investment is driving real companies, real jobs, and real products.
To the universities and schools quietly producing the engineers, designers, and business minds on which this ecosystem runs. The pipeline starts with you.
To corporate Cameroon. The ones sponsoring events, opening APIs, mentoring founders, and buying from startups instead of flying in solutions from abroad. More of this, please.
To the community builders. The ones organising meetups in borrowed conference rooms. The ones running bootcamps on weekends. The ones mentoring for free because they remember what it felt like to have nobody to call.
This ecosystem is not built by one organisation. It is built by all of us, one decision at a time.
From all of us at Mountain Hub: thank you.
We're back on your timeline. And we have a lot to share.
