Award-winning blogger, promoter and influencer Fuchor has reacted with shock to the story of Kome Melchizedek Kongnyuy, the Cameroonian mechanic who has spent nearly nine years in prison without trial.

Kome was arrested on December 5, 2017, at the start of the Anglophone crisis. He was detained without due process and has never appeared before a judge.

Reacting to the case, Fuchor expressed disbelief that Kome has remained behind bars for so long without judgment.

“Oh lord… 9 years,” he wrote.

He then offered 1,000,000 FCFA to any competent and compassionate lawyer who can successfully follow up Kome’s case and help secure his release before the end of the year.

“If you’re a competent & compassionate lawyer and you can successfully follow up his case and get him out before the end of this year, I have 1,000,000 FCFA for you,” Fuchor said.

“Just get the job done and bring him to Fuchor City to get your envelope,” he added.

Kome’s case has generated public anger and renewed concern over Cameroon’s justice system, where many people remain trapped in overcrowded prisons for years without fair or speedy trials.

For nearly nine years, Kome has not been convicted. He has not had his day in court. Yet he remains in prison.

His case has become a painful symbol of the innocent Cameroonians being buried alive by delay, silence and a broken justice system.
