"Opinions Runnin Round Like a Wild Goose Chase"

Scripture: Proverbs 18:2.

“Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions” (Proverbs 18:2, NLT).

Big idea

Proverbs 18:2 brings to light foolish behavior that is not accepted by God. Godly wisdom and the truth of God’s Word are not important to a fool; they are more interested in sharing their thoughts. When understanding and opinions clash, they will always follow their own heart by saying what they believe to be right. An opinion in of itself is not wrong. It is not that people cannot have opinions; it is that they do not want to understand all views on the matter. We value our words before considering God’s heart. We have bent, reconstructed, and reshaped the rationales for why our opinions are practical, judicious, right, and righteous. Our opinions emerge supreme before hearing from God or heeding Godly wisdom.

However, as followers of Jesus, we do not have the luxury of formulating our own opinions; we have “denied ourselves” (Matt. 16:24), so even our opinions should be rooted in the Word of God. An opinion outside of what God has said is ungodly, and it is a form of self-satisfaction and self-promotion that is dangerous. In those moments, we deny Christ by making our thoughts supreme and, therefore, an idol. The Bible calls this foolishness, and over the last few months, many of us have been guilty of esteeming our opinions and ideas above the truth of God’s Word. So today, we are reminded to stop and ask God for wisdom before we give our opinions.

Reflection

In this current climate, you may feel like you have to “air out your opinions,” but remember that at the heart of airing out opinions is a love of self and pride. Do not follow your heart (Jer. 17:9). Instead, before you respond, STOP, and seek to follow God’s heart and His Word. Remember that Godly wisdom helps us remember that if we love God and others, love does not demand to have its own way (1 Cor. 13:5).

Personal reflection

In this current climate I have struggled with_____________________, and I have been guilty of ____________________.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I confess there have been times when I have made my opinion an idol, and my actions have revealed that I have placed my opinions above others and even above Your Word. Forgive me for valuing my opinion over Godly wisdom and today, help me pursue peace for mutual upbuilding, by refusing to air all my opinions and becoming better at listening to my brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus Name, I pray, amen!

Not Too Much"

Scripture: Colossians 4:6

“Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.” (Colossians 4:6, NASB)

Big idea

Occasionally, our speech can be like salt. The right amount of salt can season a meal, but too much salt can ruin it all. For this reason, in Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he uses the metaphor of salt to illustrate how Christians should speak to each other. Salt, in Paul’s era, was valuable. It was so treasured that it could be used as currency or money. It was appreciated for its ability to preserve and flavor food. In that regard, Paul's metaphor reveals that a Christian's speech should be valuable, and "flavored" differently from a non-believer. However, Paul’s metaphor had more than one meaning because, in Paul’s time, salt also kept the meat from spoiling.

To the world, the gospel that we all say we love will be spoiled if our words to one another are unsavory and unpleasant. Following the commands of Christianity, preaching, teaching, praying, and biblical knowledge will be meaningless if they prevent us from reaching as many people as possible because our words have not preserved the message of Christ. Paul was reminding us that what we say can destroy our witness. Your words should add value to the conversation, and benefit and esteem others (Eph. 4:29). Your words should indicate that you value God’s Word because Christ is communicated through a transformed Christian life and a positive presentation of the gospel. To answer the world as Christ would, you must present truth using God’s words and a God-like attitude.

Reflection

We should desire wisdom from the Scripture to be wise in our response to God’s voice and our response to others so that our words and actions are flavored with salt and honor God.

Personal reflection

This week consult God on all that you think, do, and say. For example, “God, is what I am about to say seasoned with salt?” “God is this what I should do, think, or believe?”

Prayer

Dear Lord, show me how to desire your wisdom and voice so that nothing that comes out of my mouth will be unsavory and spoiled. Let grace correspond with my speech. May my words be seasoned with salt, pure and incorruptible (Amen)

The Financial Journey

People admire financial success
They despise financial failure
They fear financial crisis
And they seek financial deliverance

We must understand financial principles
To implement financial strategies
And eradicate financial difficulties
So as to attain financial stability.

Humility enhances financial growth
Assiduity ensures financial management
Creativity enhances financial expansion
Pride destroys financial attainments.

If we mustn't remain financial cripples
We must reach out for financial freedom
By receiving financial education,
The pathway to our financial destination.

TEENAGE PREGNANCY

Teenage pregnancy is no one's fantasy
Yet it becomes a reality for many
Who fall victim to their curiosity and naivety. At thirteen to nineteen they are already expecting.
The experience is scary because they aren't ready.

Teenage pregnancy is not satisfactory
Yet it can become a testimony for those
Who receive appropriate guidance.
With support and love, pregnant teens can thrive.
The experience can be fruitful, if their guardians are careful.

Teenage pregnancy attracts sympathy
Yet it also attracts mockery in a society where people are very judgemental.
For fear of humiliation, abortion sometimes is an option.
The experience can be deadly, if abortion is encouraged.

Teenage pregnancy is not the end of life
Yet many pregnant teens have stopped living.
Dropping out of school, being a mother, they think it's over.
The experience can be better, if they keep pursuing their dreams.

Teenage pregnancy is not always coz of promiscuity. Yet other factors like r**e and abuse have been downplayed.
Protruding belly as a teenager always signals; she was reckless.
The experiences can be reduced, if abuse is seriously sanctioned.

Teenage pregnancy is destructive
Yet it is still prevalent especially in developing countries.
Children giving birth to children daily
The experience will be reduced, if more context specific sensitisation is done.

I WAS R***D

He tore my clothes in rage
Like he was tearing a page
Dragged me against the wall
Pulled my hair all through the hall
He mounted on me with force
While he breathed heavily like a horse
I cried and begged with all my strength
But it seemed like I was already in hell
It is true, I was r**ed.

They blamed me for how I dressed
what about those r**ed though in sarees?
They said I didn't fight hard
How hard can you fight a dead heart?
They said am a woman; my "no" mean "yes"
If I say yes will the ra**st take it for no?
They blamed me for rejecting his proposal
Should everyone I reject r**e me?
It is true, I was r**ed.

He disfigured my face
Dislocated bones was my case
I was infected with STIs
So I cried out my pretty eyes
I became angry and bitter
Couldn't even imagine having a lover
I tried using drugs and alcohol
To ease my troubled soul
It is true, I was r**ed.

I felt I was less of a woman
Until I learnt something important
I am still a woman like other women
I may have been r**ed,but I can still be great
R**e isn't justified though I'm blamed
I choose to be an inspiration to other victims
With my story, I will sound my victory
My r**e experience is my motivation
It is true, I was r**ed.

NANNIES/HOUSEMAID PART 2

Parents and nannies must work to foster an environment where open communication is appreciated and valued. Open communication allows nannies and parents to share information, concerns and aspirations as they work together to raise the children.

To keep the lines of communication open, parents and nannies can establish a quick morning and evening debriefing routine, maintain a daily log, have a daily check-in time and hold a weekly or monthly meeting.

Parents and nannies should encourage each other to bring up concerns as they come up, to ask questions and to share feelings or concerns with confidence that they’ll be listened to.

A nanny is a person who provides child care. Typically, this care is given within the children's family setting.Throughout history, nannies were usually servants in large households and reported directly to the lady of the house. Today, modern nannies, like other domestic workers, may live in or out of the house, depending on their circumstances and those of their employers. There are many employment agencies that specialize in childcare. Nannies in many areas are a sought after member of the workforce. Many nannies become a part of their family's household. Although previously looked at as a lesser-than job, today's demand has made it a popular and valued addition to the lives of the family's household.

EXCELLENCE
EXCELLENCE is the quality of excelling, of being truly the best at something.
Excellence is a quality which surpasses ordinary standards. It is also used as a standard of performance as measured
For example in a test some people can be graded as excellent, others very good and so on.

In a world characterized by so much competition in all spheres of life, excellence is the mark of distinction. It is what gives people the upper hand. You can't afford to be ordinary, average or get things fairly done. You have to be exceptional. If 20 people apply for a job and they have equal qualifications, they'll go for the person with the highest performance. Excellence puts you on the spot light.

Sometimes people regard excellence as a circumstantial phenomenon but in the real sense of it, excellence is a life style. It's not something that you do today and tomorrow you aren't, it's not something that happens out of the blues, you work for it. You do things, putting in your very best in all that you do.

Excellence is not a set level of quality or perfectionism. It’s an ever-changing dynamic in both our personal journey and the collective journey of our teams.
It’s about growth and maturity. Excellence should be a moving target of sorts. The quality of your craft and serving today should not be the same as the quality of your serving yesterday. It should be increasing and moving forward, not stagnating!

To travel the road of excellence, sacrifice is inevitable. When others put in less time, you may have to put in more, when others make excuses, you can't afford to do so.

Excellence is a thing of the mind and spirit. You can't give what you do not have. The HolySpirit is the Spirit of excellence and those who have it manifest excellence. Just like Daniel in
Daniel 6:3
"Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm."
KJV Amplified Bible

Being excellent does not mean you don't encounter difficulties or that you know everything. Being excellent means you can identify your lapses and deal with them adequately.

Many people have grown up with the mentality of "I mustn't be the first, average is good for me, I am an average student, not everyone is made for the top" and so on. And we think acting that way makes us modest or humble. No! It only hinders our growth. Who exactly was meant for the top? Why not you? From our topic : finding yourself we discovered what God says about us. Being average is certainly not part of it. But I remember that we are the head and not the tail.

Excellence speaks loudly. Yes it does. Excellence is attractive and people are always drawn to excellent things. Stop complaining about how much you've done that went unnoticed, unappreciated or not selected. Ask yourself how well you did what you did. What was the quality like? Many of us may cook rice, but the person with the tastiest will get the most attention.
The truth is if you desire average, you'll give in average effort and average results will you get. Those who desire excellence will put in excellence and get excellence in return. You can't plant cocoyam and harvest paw-paw. What you sow is what you reap.

Excellence is contagious, so choose your company wisely. When you are surrounded by people who do things excellently and are excellence-oriented, you can't afford to be careless. Even if you are careless, when around such people you act in accordance. While there are others who are threatened by excellence. These kinds of people will always give you reason to be passive and do things anyhow. Besides they have no standards.

You need to have a Strong Desire for Excellence.
Passion is the first but most important step to reaching excellence. Without passion everything is done with only half heart and it will give you only half results. So unless you have a strong desire to achieve your goal, you will never be able to achieve excellence in it.

Excellence is not about the big performance on stage. It's about every little thing you do. Hope you've heard people say "when A does something, it's always different. She does it well". You want to cook, you do it so orderly and presentable; you want to pick grains, you take you time to pick properly and so on. If you can't demonstrate excellence in little things, there's no guarantee you'd be excellent in the big things.
Again u need to Make Firm Blueprints. That is Every long term goal you make has to be supported by a solid plan. You can’t just make a goal to win a gold medal at the Olympics and then stop. You have to follow through and break that large long term goal into smaller manageable chunks. So an example of that could be to go the gym every single day. And then you break that down to work out for 3 hours. And then break that down even more and so on.
All of this should be a part of your blueprints for excellence.

Refuse to be in the multitude, the masses. Stand out, shine out! There are people doing things you can do better but because you decide to be in the masses and forsake excellence, you lose out. The sacrifice for excellence may seem big but the returns are bigger. It pays to be excellent.

The Keys of Excellence
1. INTEGRITY – Match behavior with values
Demonstrate your positive personal values in all you do and say. Be sincere and real.

Living in integrity means that everything we say and everything we do are true reflections of what we value, what’s important to us. Think about what your behavior says about you. Does it clearly show others what you value

FAILURE LEADS TO SUCCESS – Learn from mistakes
View failures as feedback that provides you with the information you need to learn, grow, and succeed.

When we live the Key of Failure Leads to Success we see failures as feedback, we learn from them and make the changes needed to be more successful in the future.
To live this Key successfully we may need to change the way we think about failure. Rather than viewing failure in a negative way where we put ourselves down and think WE are a failure, think of failure as a valuable learning experience. When we look at our mistakes with a view to learning from them, rather than sending ourselves negative messages, we are on the path to success.

We may be reluctant to try different things because we’re afraid of failing. Fear of failure does nothing but keep us in our comfort zone where we stick with the familiar, the “safe” choices where we don’t “risk” another failure. When we step out of our comfort zone—when we’re willing to try something new—that is when we take a step toward success.

The only real failure is not learning from our mistakes. The key to success is to look carefully at what went wrong, change what we did the first time, and try again by applying what we learned.

SPEAK WITH GOOD PURPOSE – Speak honestly and kindly
Think before you speak. Make sure your intention is positive and your words are sincere.
Words are powerful! They have the power to uplift and enlighten or put down and depress. A few cutting words spoken in a moment of anger can affect us for a long time, perhaps even a lifetime. On the other hand, a few kind words can make a very positive difference in how we feel about ourselves … sometimes for a lifetime.

What we say to others—and to ourselves—can have a huge impact. Speaking with good purpose is about always considering the intention of our words. It’s about communicating directly, clearly, honestly, and with a positive purpose. The first step is awareness. If we always think before we speak instead of just blurting out whatever comes to mind, we can learn to consider the reason for our words and make sure we are speaking with good purpose … will our words build someone up or put them down? We all sometimes have negative thoughts, but we don’t have to say everything we think.

There will be times when we need to share critical thoughts. At these times, if our purpose and how we phrase our words is considered first, sharing honest and direct feedback can be very positive and powerful, and build trust.

Speaking with good purpose is the cornerstone of healthy relationships. This Key fosters a positive emotional environment where people are happier, more productive, and more likely to succeed.

Again, always learn to Believe in Yourself . Self-confidence is single handedly on of the most important things you can have in your life. If you believe that you can do something, that alone gives enough strength to complete the task.
So if you combine your desire for success with your self-confidence and belief in yourself, you will light such a fire that you will have an unlimited drive, which will greatly help you achieve
Plan your days. – Do you plan your days? Did you wake up today knowing what you are supposed to do today? If not, maybe it’s time you do. Planning doesn’t have to be long and tedious, it can just be a 30 second process. Every night, think about a few small things that you want to accomplish tomorrow and write them down. When you wake up the next morning, review this list before you do anything else.

Another way to achieve excellent u need to Learn from the Best that is having a Role Model(s).
Rather than doing everything on your own. Try to learn from the best of people who have already done everything that you are doing now. These people who have already achieved success have built in themselves all the skills and habits required to be excellent and successful and you can learn a lot from them.

THIS IS IT! – Make the most of every moment
Focus your attention on the present moment. Keep a positive attitude.

This Is It! is about focusing on NOW instead of later, or next week, or next month, or next year, or yesterday, etc., and making the most of it. A positive This Is It! attitude can make everything we do and every day productive, fulfilling, and fun!

Life is full of distractions and opportunities to do something else, something other than what we’re doing now. Many of us spend a lot of time thinking about those other things. Instead of making what we’re doing now “it” our focus is often elsewhere—on things we wanted to do, could have done, should have done, or want to do “sometime.” Whenever our thoughts are occupied with something other than what we’re doing, we miss what’s going on around us in the moment … while we’re waiting for the next moment to arrive the present moment slips away.

When we live in the NOW we have power! With a This Is It! attitude we make the present “it” and find joyful moments that we might otherwise have missed!

Excellence and IQ are mutually exclusive!

IQ is based on some random questions composed by some one.

For example the most successful people in the united state ( millionaires ) are from Russia

3% of Americans are from Asia but they contribute 25% of the total scientific innovation

Averagely the those with highest IQ in the world are Mongolians and they are underdeveloped.

You can be excellent in sport. IQ does not measure that

You can be excellent in singing. IQ does not measure that

You can be excellent in socialization IQ does not measure that

But the Good news is IQ can be improved like your muscles gets stronger with exercise? So does your brain.

No mater your IQ you can be excellent
