Just over a week to go until IGEM 2026 — and Malaysia is charging hard. ☀🔋

In July, Malaysia opened LSS6: 2.65 GW of solar + 1.25 GW of battery storage on open tender. Bid sizes: 60 MW to 500 MW. RFP closed in August. Every project targeted to be fully online by end-2029.

That's the conversation we're flying in for.

Three days at Solar & Storage Live. Price wasn't the first question at B 43.

Proof was.

"What's your wind load methodology?" "Can you show me the third-party validation?" "Who's done complex terrain like mine?" Fair questions — and ours to answer.

The UK is set to add 5–5.5 GW of solar in 2026 — a 50% year-on-year jump and the best year on record. More than 2 million installations are now live. The race is real.

But growth attracts shortcuts. Before you sign your next mounting or tracker contract — at this show or anywhere — ask three questions:

1. Can you prove your design handles UK wind?
A tracker presents a different aerodynamic profile at every rotation angle. Generic wind load assumptions don't survive a British winter. Demand site-specific wind and snow load engineering — for complex terrain, not just the brochure.

2. Who vouches for your bankability?
Lenders trust independent names: DNV, Bureau Veritas, Wood Mackenzie. If your supplier can't show third-party validation, your project carries the risk, not them.

3. Can one supplier carry your full range?
Fixed tilt, tracker, carport, agrivoltaics — juggling three vendors for one site means three points of failure.

Wood Mackenzie just dropped its 2025 solar tracker market snapshot.
Global capacity hit 134 GW, up 18% year on year. The regional breakdown:
• Europe 25.2 GW (+14%)
• LATAM 13.2 GW (+12%)
• Africa 7.1 GW (+58%, fastest growing region)

The Italy number is the one we keep coming back to. #2 in a market didn't happen by accident. It came from years of shipping trackers into Italian projects and actually showing up when customers had questions on site.
