A railway wheelset can weigh several tons. 🚆
But moving it inside a workshop is rarely just lifting.
In real operation, a wheel drop system works as a coordinated process: a pit-side platform handles lifting and installation, a workshop-side platform receives and transfers the wheelset, and an electric transfer cart moves it between both positions.
When idle, the system aligns with rail and floor level, allowing locomotives, personnel, and forklifts to pass safely.
In railway maintenance, the real challenge is not the weight itself — but how it is controlled through every movement. ⚙️
