If you are doing packaging for your products, make sure you read Food Sanitation Regulation 2007.
I've seen some locally produced goods that do not follow the regulations. Some of which;
*Allergens not bolded
*Ingredients should be listed from the largest percentage to the least
*The images on the packets must be representative. Eg: You can't put a bowl of garden kaikai when the contents are just spices..and more in the comments.
One that is not in the regulation but is a regulation is, no provincial/PNG flag or another country's flag should be on packets. I remember in my former employment, our marketing team was penalised by NDoH inspectors. PNG made, use the PNG-made trademark, which I think you can't use without HACCP.
In PNG, maybe not so regulated, in Australia, manufacturers were penalised thousands for mistakes on labelling. It's even a regulation that products should have an easy-to-open feature. So if you want to export, DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Note: if you do your packaging through us, I can do a free package check. I am well learned in Packaging, Food Sanitation Regulation & FSANZ
