13 common quality failures of the thermal transfer process, how many have you seen?
1 full version of the plate appears
Phenomenon: the full version of the part of the spot, pattern.
Reason: Ink viscosity is too low, the squeegee angle is not appropriate, the ink drying temperature is not enough, static electricity, etc..
Elimination: improve the viscosity, adjust the squeegee angle, improve the oven temperature, the back of the film pre-applied electrostatic agent.
2. Hair pulling
Phenomenon: on one side of the pattern will appear similar to the comet line, often appear on the white ink and the edge of the pattern part.
Main reasons: larger ink pigment particles, ink is not clean, high viscosity, static electricity, etc.
Elimination: filter ink and remove the scraper, reduce the concentration; white ink can be pre-sharpened knife, electrostatic treatment of the film, with sharpened chopsticks between the scraper and the plate scraped out, or add electrostatic agent.
3. bad color set, the bottom of the show
Phenomenon: several colors overlapped when the group color deviation, especially in the bottom color.
Main reasons: the machine itself is not accurate, there are fluctuations; bad plate making; improper expansion and contraction of the bottom color.
Elimination: the use of strobe light manual registration; re-plate; in the impact of the visual effect of the pattern to expand the expansion and contraction or in a small part of the pattern is not lined with white.
4. ink scraping unclear
Phenomenon: in the printing film appears mongrel.
Cause: scraper fixed frame slack; layout is not clean.
Elimination: re-adjust the squeegee, and fixed knife frame; cleaning the printing plate, if necessary, clean with decontamination powder; installed between the layout and squeegee reverse air supply.
5. printing color off block
Phenomenon: in the relatively large pattern of the local part of the color peeling phenomenon, especially in the printing of glass, stainless steel pretreatment film is most likely to appear on this phenomenon.
Reason: color layer in the processed film printing itself is relatively flaking; static electricity; color ink layer is thicker, drying is not sufficient.
Exclusion: increase the oven temperature, reduce the speed.
6. poor fastness when transferring
Phenomenon: The color layer transferred on the substrate is easily pulled off by the tape used for testing.
Cause: Improper adhesive release or backing, mainly because the backing does not match the substrate.
Exclusion: Replace the adhesive release (if necessary, you can make a blend); replace the adhesive backing that matches the substrate.
7. Anti-stick
Phenomenon: The ink layer peels off when rewinding, and the sound is very loud.
Reason: winding tension is too large, ink drying is not complete, check the sticker is too thick, indoor temperature and humidity is not good, static electricity, printing speed is too fast, etc.
Elimination: reduce the winding tension, or properly reduce the printing speed, so that drying completely, control the indoor temperature and humidity, pre-application of electrostatic agent.
8. drop point
Phenomenon: irregular leakage of the bottom of the fine dots on the shallow network (similar to the dots that can not be printed).
Reason: The ink does not go on.
Elimination: cleaning the layout, with electrostatic ink absorption roller, deepen the network, adjust the pressure of the squeegee, without affecting other conditions to properly reduce the ink viscosity.
9. gold, silver, pearlescent in the printing of orange peel ripples
Phenomenon: gold, silver, pearl in a large area usually appear orange peel ripple phenomenon.
Reason: Gold, silver, pearl itself is large particles, can not be evenly dispersed in the ink plate, forming the phenomenon of uneven density.
Exclusion: Before printing, beat the ink evenly, use the pump to beat the ink on the ink tray, and place the plastic blowing tube on the ink tray; reduce the printing speed.
10. poor reproducibility of the printed level
Phenomenon: the level transition is too large (such as 15%- 100%) of the pattern in the shallow part of the network often does not appear to print the phenomenon, the phenomenon of insufficient density in the dark part or in the middle tone part of the obvious junction of shades.
Reason: The dot transition range is too large, the ink adhesion film ability is not good.
Elimination: the use of electrostatic ink absorption roller; divided into two plates.
11. Printed products on the glossy thin
Phenomenon: the color of the product in the print is lighter than the sample, especially when printing silver.
Reason: Ink viscosity is too low.
Exclusion: Add the original ink to improve the ink viscosity to the right amount.
12. white text edge with jagged
Phenomenon: In the whiteness requirements of the text edges often appear jagged.
Reason: The ink granularity and pigment is not fine enough; ink viscosity is low, etc.
Elimination: sharpen the knife or add additives; adjust the angle of the scraper; improve the ink viscosity; change the electric engraving plate to laser plate.
13. stainless steel pre-coating film coating is not uniform (coated with silicon)
In the printing of stainless steel transfer film before the film is usually pretreated (silicon coating), which makes the process of transferring the ink layer peeled off the problem can be solved (the temperature is above 145 ℃ when the ink layer on the film peeling difficulties).
Phenomenon: grainy, filiform, etc. on the film
