Why are there such large price differences for the same product? Is it because the supplier is adding a higher profit margin?
Taking oil seals as an example, for the same product, the price difference between NBR and FKM materials can be 2 to 4 times.
FKM (fluororubber/fluorocarbon rubber) is a high-performance synthetic elastomer known for its excellent high-temperature resistance (typically low), oil resistance, chemical resistance, ozone resistance, and weather resistance. Originating in the aerospace industry in the 1950s, it is widely used in automotive, aerospace, and chemical sealing components (such as O-rings and gaskets). Due to its high fluorine content, it exhibits extremely high physical stability and low gas permeability in harsh environments.
If your oil seal is easily ignited, it is clearly not made of high-quality FKM material.
