On June 14, 2025, Minnesota's governor signed HF 4, amending lead and cadmium limits in consumer goods under section 325E.3892 of the 2024 regulations. This is now in full effect.โ
#2. Current Restriction Requirements ๐ซโ
Under current law, covered products cannot be imported, manufactured, sold, distributed, or offered for use if:โ
Lead content exceeds 0.009% (90ppm)โ
Cadmium content exceeds 0.0075% (75ppm)โ
3. New Exemptions in the Amended Regulations ๐โ

Federally Regulated Products: Covered products with lead or cadmium are already restricted by federal regulations.โ
Lead-in-Solder for Internal Components: Products using lead-only in internal-component solder, with conditions:โ

Manufacturers must submit biennial reports to the Pollution Control Agency.โ
