This coming weekend I will be teaching a workshop on studio lighting for portrait photography and the new and improved StattLab at Drontheimer Str. 34 near U-Bahn Osloer Str!
The workshop is Saturday and Sunday June 27th- 28th from 10:00-19:00. It will be taught as four sessions, two each day. Saturday morning we will start by going over some basics of lighting: why are we lighting, what are our potential sources of light, how do we set up the equipment, what camera settings do we want to use, and a bit on working basics of working with a person in the socially somewhat strange setup of a “studio”. In this first session we will only use one light, which can already do quite a bit. The next session will be more complex studio lighting, using up to 3 sources. Here, we’ll work up to a “classic” three-light studio setup. The following session on Sunday morning is going to be working with filters and mixed (i.e. daylight) lighting, which is quite a topic on its own. Sunday afternoon we’ll go back indoors and spend a few hours fine-tuning and mixing the various elements from the previous sessions. It is in this session which we may have 1-2 outside models come in.
The price is 150€ for the whole weekend, reduced price is 75€ for members of StattLab.
