Millions of girls and young women in the DRC do not attend school and have no access to education. The DRC is faced with high levels of poverty and very little resources are provided by the government. Educational provision is insufficient due to lack of infrastructure, materials, and adequate teacher training. Lycée Liziba offers high-quality education for girls in Kinshasa, raising girls’ aspirations to continue their studies and engaging with their families to create a supportive environment for personal development.
With only 2/3 of women literate in the DRC and over half of the female population having no formal education, career aspirations and pathways to escaping poverty are minimal. The Lycée Libiza school aims to increase socioeconomic capabilities by providing quality education and personal development mentoring to girls from vulnerable backgrounds. The school provides formal education and mentoring as well as working to increase the support girls receive from their families in order to encourage personal growth and empowerment. Since beginning in 2015, 1,320 women and girls have been directly impacted by the school.

The overriding assumption behind the show Too Hot to Handle on Netflix is something like: If we incentivise a gorgeous group of s*x crazy participants to not hook up when first meeting on a luxury desert island, then they will develop more meaningful and respectful relationships. Amazingly, through a series of experiments that exposed the participants to relationship development techniques and losing money if they did become intimate, it actually seemed to work.
