A friendly reminder to you on the first day of the week to prioritise your health this week 🤍

A 2019 study found that repressed emotions and trauma can decrease your immune system function and cause havoc to your body.

However, there are ways to assist your body in releasing pent-up trauma:
1) Acknowledge your feelings: Journaling is a must!
2) Work through your trauma: Seeking professional help may be beneficial to you.
3) Try "shadow work": Do further research on this, especially if you want to work through generational trauma.
4) Make intentional movement a priority: Don't exercise just to exercise, move your body in a way that creates a mind-body connection. Yoga is perfect for this.
5) Practice stillness: Meditate, read and spend time on your own.

If you have ever felt like you've had to push your emotions aside and carry on after you have experienced something traumatic, this is for you. We are only human, and although we are strong, we are also beautifully fragile. Give yourself some grace - the same grace you often give others. It is time to heal❤️

We have all experienced some sort of trauma in our lives. Be it the death of a loved one, the brushing of your shoulder with death, the loss of a relationship, or even bullying as a child; trauma is part of being human 🤍

Although it may shake us to the core and maybe even alter the way we chose to live, there are feelings that we must process in order for us to live better. Studies have found that holding onto trauma and repressed emotions can result in lifelong physical manifestations in the body, including heart disease, high blood pressure, digestive problems, chronic pain and increased infections.

Here are some of the symptoms of repressed emotions and trauma. This week we are going to focus more on this topic as we show you the role exercise, especially yoga, plays in your holistic healing journey ❤️
